Does Sellers at least have a short leash going forward?

My seats for the 24 lsu game happened to be next to and in front of two former high school head coaches one of whom I played against in high school. They both were going ballistic at sellers for bailing OB instead of using his size and speed because he’s such a tough out if he wants to be. It was after that game it began being commented on and sellers then reluctantly but intentionally began running harder. Something happened in the Illinois bowl game that has completely taken over and gone unabated since then.

Wasn't it 18 who got eviscerated for bringing that up at then of that season?

I expect to see pass plays that only have 1 intended target. Throw if he's open or run if he isn't. He can't layer passes into a zone and can't read the defense. After the first 2 games I'm not even sure he can sling it anymore. Sad what he has become. I used to get chills thinking about how he could take over a game if he wanted to.

That won't work now that DCs know to keep a spy on him and know to contain him with their pass rush.

Designed QB runs are some of his best plays because that is what he likes to do the most. Unfortunately, those runs get pretty easy to defend when the D starts looking for them.

52 yards on 14 carries…included in that total are 3 sacks and the negative yards as a result of these sacks, is hardly containing him. Averaged almost 4 ypc with the sacks.

When he moves, people have to move with him. Very few folks take him down 1-on-1 in space.

He is not a pocket passer. He has to be moving.

Get him comfortable with some reps under his belt. It, also, would allow Sellers to take a step back and relax. You can tell in his throwing motion that he is not trusting what he sees out there and turning it loose. He is aiming the ball.

has it ever occurred to anyone else on this board that Woods might actually be pretty good? That favoritism, stupidity and stubbornness might be at play here. Plus Sellers seems to the face of gamecock football, so his image would need to be washed from view.

He has let them become the faces of the offense and making a change would bring about questions about everything else he has sold the fans. Sellers is not a good QB and Harbor is not a good WR, that is obvious to anyone who has watched them play.

Beamer needs to stick with them and hope things work out. If he brings in Woods and Woods doesn't light it up, Beamer looks foolish. Woods should have gotten more reps against the cupcakes.

or perhaps Beamer might even look more foolish if Woods came in and actually played better than Sellers, which could be possible. Sure Sellers is a huge physical specimen, but he is simply unreliable as a QB.
