Potentially big for our DL depth rest of the way,
That helps. I am not sure he could come in and give a lot of snaps but he has been on campus and practicing since late August and was training for the UFL leagues before entering the portal. WV didn't have room for him but one thinks if he had been great they would have found a way to get him there.
We need him to come in and give quality snaps to take some pressure off the starters. He should be an asset, certainly after the injuries.

Yeah, don't really see how big of a boost this guy is for us. Not sure he's even physically able to play right now.
I think a reasonable hope would be that a month from now he may be able to give us 10-20 productive snaps per game.
He's been practicing the last several weeks according to Robbie and showed up in good shape. Take it for what it's worth but glad we have some more bodies since Trevion and Moye are out for the year.
A little more context on WV not taking him back. He used up his normal eligibility last year, but did the restraining order move to get an extra year this year. That happened in August and WV had already built their DL not expecting him. From what I read they would have wanted him back if it had not drug out till Aug.
He is in shape. This really should be a big help.
My understanding is that he has been practicing, so should already know most of the plays and should be in shape. This is good news. Hopefully Zakari can play and be effective as well.
I think he’s been practicing for a few weeks and it sounds like WV not taking him back was a timing thing that we got lucky on.
The other thing to consider is it’s not like our other DL options are great right now and also we are now extremely thin with Moye and Williams out for the year. I don’t think anyone is expecting him to be an All SEC player or anything but if he’s nothing more than a serviceable depth piece that can give other guys a breather every so often, that’s an improvement from what we started the week with.

In shape in your 20's v in shape 30's+ waaay different. Up to game speed may take a half or so but that's still a plus for the good guys.
Hopefully he comes out and plays with a chip on his shoulder against his former school. And hopefully, that’s expressed in TFLs and sacks and not penalties.
Yeah. I know that now. Very good news at a position we really needed it. Now if we could just get a decent LT eligible.

For those who like factual stats as opposed to uninformed opinion Eddie Kelly Jr in 2025 with WVU played in 6 games averaging 32.7 snaps per game. He made 25 tackles, defended 3 passes has 1.5 tfl and .5 sacks. I didn't take the time to compare that to Bams numbers but its not too bad
He is a 22 year old, tall DL. With the injuries, I hope he plays tomorrow.

He is much needed help in games giving the starters a breather. Any in game snaps he can play is a relief for us due to injuries. Hopefully he can be somewhat effective and play some quality snaps. Good last minute grab by the staff.
