Saw that story. Also saw where the Amer Alowdi was the owner and fled the country years ago on drug charges associated with the store. Why it was allowed to stay in business with an owner who flew the legal coup is worth knowing. Seems like if the owner is involved, the business should be shut down.
Mississippi police seize kratom and make arrests after deaths of Ole Miss students
Aidan Hamilton, 18, and Robert Strang, 20, were found dead in separate locations this week and the drug kratom was found at each scene.

so the owner of the store is indicted on drug charges in 2022, flees the country, and the store remains open, and low and behold, "metro narcotics" raids the store and finds banned substances.......so what has metro narcotics been doing for the last 3.5 years+?
Now in saying that, I'm really not taking a shot at the LEO's, but more so at the court system and inaction
but it also begs to question, are there so many more big targets, that this shop does not even show up on the radar?
this is a horribly sad situation and it just brings to the front, so many questions about what is happening and why this store was not under heavier scrutiny

We'll probably never see the toxicology reports but I'm guessing there was more than just kratom that these students took. Either way, these guys are done and are in for a long stay at the big house. Ole Miss lawyers and Ole Miss judges will show them no pity for what they've put their beloved thru.
The Indians that own liquor stores in MS bend every law that they can; of course not all, but a sizable percentage of them. When they flat out break laws, they say they “didn’t know” and get off the first time. Let a white or black owner try that. I’ve seen them take products from their liquor store and put them in their quick stops. I’ve seen them bring in several products from out of state that you can’t get in MS and put them in their store (this one did get shut down for a week, but it wasn’t their first offense).
The liquor companies used to be good about writing off damages and buying back a portion of products that ended up being flops. The Indian owners abused it so much that the companies made a bunch of hoops to jump thru to get anything written off and they aren’t as liberal about it.
This is going to ruffle some feathers, but foreigners from certain parts of the world consider breaking laws part of the game. They look at it differently than we do.

Selling on consignment or buying back a “bad” product has always been illegal in MS.
Anyone who has done that has broken the law.

When I was doing business in China, I was having dinner with the owner of the plant in China. We were both at a trade show in Las Vegas. He told me that he was going to lie, cheat , and steal and if I didn’t catch him it was my fault. That was just the way business was done in China. He wasn’t lying. I had to watch him like a hawk. Caught some stuff. I’m sure I missed some stuff.
A high percentage of my business is with convenience stores and literally the first thing that was done when a store was bought by a middle eastern person was to bring in the drug paraphernalia and then the vapes, kratom, etc. Don’t get me wrong, convenience stores have always sold drug paraphernalia but it was kind of hidden as other products. The Yemenez operators are the absolute worst as far as breaking laws and sticking the middle finger up to our laws. I’ve seen them let people buy gas, beer and cigarettes on EBT cards. If there is a demand for the product they will sell it. The state has cracked down on some products and the local cops are going into stores to verify they have removed the stuff but this story does not even move the needle with me.
The irony of this statement is pretty hilarious. America was literally founded because of this principle. And still 4th highest incarceration rate in the world. Are most of the incarcerated innocent?

Lost in all of this is the fact these kids aren't innocent victims in all of this. While I have pity for the families, these guys were doing some **** they shouldn't have been. If there wasn't a market for this stuff Mohammed and company wouldn't be selling it. Ole Miss profits from being the "party school". Their fans eat this **** up. They love "we've never lost a party", yada, yada, yada. I truly believe this is why they have so many out of state students now. At some point it catches up with you and it's a bad look for them and they know it, thus all the deflecting. Now you've got this co-ed talking about being roofied or some ****.

Very true. Yemens are out for a dollar at all costs. I’m in the store biz and have been duped by many. Most aren’t citizens, have no plans to be,and will jump on a plane at any site of consequences. They’re are some good ones of course, but not as many as the bad ones. Indians are much easier to deal with. Sure they may not be citizens either but they’re Not lying cheating and stealing non stop.
