very good running back who happened to play fullback last night. 31 is more of a true fullback, but 28 has that big play potential. Working 28 in at full back is a good package. Would also like to see some packages with him at tailback and 31 at fullback. He is a heavy runner and played a little running back last year and was very productive then as well for the limited snaps he got. 31 ad fb and 28 at hb would be a pretty mean heavy package.
Freshman qb still looks good. Receivers still look good. Line still looks good. Defense still looks good
However mistakes are still being made. Blacksburg did a good job of keeping it a game longer than it should have been. Salem was the apparent better team from first snap and Blacksburg was determined to make them earn their victory. Salem played well all game but they had a few mistakes early that you just can’t make deep into the playoffs.
Overall, Salem played well, and look really promising, but made mistakes that let Blacksburg hang on longer than they should have been able to. They still have the mistakes question mark and can they keep enough players healthy question mark. How is it that most teams we play seem to have more dressed players on the sidelines?
