With 1/3 of the season played…

The Venables contract extension in August is a top 5 terrible AD decision. Now it would probably cost them around 40-50 Mill to can him after this year.
It amazes me how ADs continue to do dumb stuff like this and are never held accountable for it. What possibly pressing reason was there to give Venables an extension in August?
That would be an impressive feat because we play them in Starkville.
2 and I think one is because a sitting coach leaves for a better opportunity. Oklahoma will give Venables one more season to figure it out.
I'll say 3. The two mentioned previously and I'll throw out what is probably a reach but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened, Eli Drinkwitz.
Mizzou still has Florida, Ole Miss, Georgia, Texas and A&M to play. Kentucky and OU might be toss ups. Arkansas is probably a win.
Mizzou peaked in 2023 and have won fewer games every year since. Conference record has gotten worse each year as well. They could be a 6-6 (3-6) team at the end of the season.
Is that enough for them to move on? Probably not, but it wouldn't surprise me if it happened.
