Concerning but points allowed is the stat that counts most. We are middle of pack at #9. Mississippi is #16. Our D's MO so far is we allow teams to move the ball but stiffen up in the red zone.

I think it’s too early To really tell. No doubt our pass rush will cost us yards. But we are middle of the pack in completion percentage and YPA allowed. We gave ups 282 to Sellers but about 110 of those were when we went prevent. We have been up at least 2 scores in every game we have played too. Would you really rather have Arkansas’s pass defense than ours?

Our defensive style is pretty easy to pinpoint. We’re committed to stopping the run (Top 40 nationally in rushing D) and are content to allow underneath throws and tighten up once the other team gets close to the red zone.

We don’t give up very many explosive plays and it’s worked for us so far.
Also known as bend but don't break. We give up a lot of completions, but tackle well. Biggest concern for me is the lack of turnovers created.

State is the worst in the SEC in passing yards allowed per game at 249 ypg.
Quick strike, fast paced offenses put pressure on your defense if things start breaking down. What we do doesn't really pair well with each other.

So what does this mean? We're simply going to have to get into track meets. Which is weird, because that used to be the thing MSU avoid at all costs. Florida and teams like them were who had all the speed.

When does Kelly Jones's cast come off? Would love to have him able to actually catch the ball.

Exactly, and because we score quickly, the defense is on the field more than normal. I'd be interested in yards per defensive play as a stat.

I feel like we’ve dropped a ton of INT’s through 4 games. I also don’t remember us forcing any fumbles, even ones recovered by the offense. But you’re not wrong.
right? This weekend's ripe for the LOA to show-up and even things out. Our secondary's had a good nose for the ball, but have definitely left $ on the table.

How do we stop Russell’s big plays? That dude is accurate on the long ball and those 3 WRs can fly. Lack of pass rush may rear its ugly head this week, because he hasn’t just taken off with break downs because there haven’t been many. We need to figure a way to hide a 12th defensive player on the field. 😂😂😂

I think we tried that for a play in the Missouri or South Carolina game. It didn’t work. Or maybe we tried it a dozen times & only got caught once. Who knows?
