How are coaches doing at recruiting the school

Just wondering, how well do you think the coaches of your local teams do of recruiting the school? Are they finding basketball and lacrosse players and talking to them about football? Or the big guys that don’t do anything after school?

And what do you think the strategy is, feels like this needs to start in the middle schools.

With sidelines declining all around it feels like this is more important than ever.

Salem has a lot of players playing lacrosse that would be good football players. I don't think they want to play football especially with their recent success.

For sure. The problem is also the requirements of other sports which has become a little like football. They are almost demanding 8 or 9, up to 10 months per year. More than ever, what qualifies as a good coach is his ability to get kids out of the hallways. Their are many characteristics of a great coach and it makes up about 10 or 15 different things, but one is surely his ability to recruit the hallways.

Legendary Salem footballer Chad Fisher had lax as his primary sport. Sad to see these are competing.

There has always been a bit of a friction between laxer only and football only guys. Think they are often similar types of kids that found different things…. But still, a lot of Salem footballers did both at some point in their high school career: bud toliver, Chad, Coleman Fox, list keeps going for 2005 to 2015 era.
Dont really know about the kids past that.
