One of College Footballs big problems, projecting what teams are going to do or not do before we even play the games, PSU might be worse than we thought, but Northwestern is definitely better than we thought they were going to be.
BGJ (Big Game James) replaced with DMC (Door Matt Campbell)

Precisely. Winning is hard. Something a large segment of regulars here refused to acknowledge for years.
I believe many victories, sometimes 10 per season or more were dismissed by the vaunted BWICAC as "teams without a pulse."
Ironically, PSU is now the team "without a pulse."
That a bunch of guys who finished mid pack in an inferior conference weren't going to do better in a stronger one.
A blind man could have seen it.
It was also an excellent strategy to fire your coach asap and go on a magical mystery tour search for 50+ days while your recruiting class evaporated and your only prospect was a devout Mormon who coached at BYU. What could go wrong? Now we really need to "coach em up."
The Penn State uniform and the immense pride that comes with wearing it was supposed to push them over the top.
Are you questioning the Great Oz's (Krafty The Clown) methods?
BGJ was this great recruiter. And what did he do with them?
Ruined them.
They sucked the head in big games, and folded up. It's impossible to defend Franklin. Only clowns attempt to do this.

If I could sum up what I am seeing, James just yakked up another game that he should have won against Pitt, in the most BGJ fashion possible. Good riddance to that clown.
Campbell may or may not be the right guy for Penn State, but he was hired very late in the cycle. So he wasn't able to sign high school recruits for the most part, and he lost a lot of Penn State players who were poached by James. So I'm willing to cut Campbell a lot more slack than many on this board. I think Campbell will right the ship here sooner than many think.
As for Pat Kraft, I have been out on him since his leaked speech to the players after James was fired. The job seems way too big for Kraft.
