I'm not watching anything but highlights. I tuned out in the 90s; after a strike, I haven't tuned back in since.
I see the Dodgers still have one of the best teams money can buy.

I haven't watched any of the games but checked the scores. Good to see the Brave's offense is in full post season form.
I hope the dodgers sweep the rest of the way. Then maybe changes to the salary cap rules will be made.
Actually, he’s been on the list since the 90s. Apparently.

my favorite team does not have the money to spend like the dodgers, so I want the rules to change to be more favorable for my favorite team.
Salary cap is needed but that’s not why the dodgers are where they are. MLB needs to do something about these BS prorated/deferred contracts. Ohtani signed a 700 million dollar contract. They are paying him 2 million of that this year
Dodgers fan for life. It's not just the payroll - it's also how much of the total revenue is being invested into the player salaries. I remember the days when the Dodger ownership had the money but wouldn't spend it. I remember seasons where LA was the worst team in MLB. Until MLB changes the rules, I'm gonna enjoy this run.
I wonder how much money the dodgers are making in Ohtani jersey sales alone.
Correct, and to make this easier for some to comprehend, the Dodgers' payroll this year is technically 338M
However, they also happen to have 1.1B, yes BILLION, in deferred salaries that will mostly pay out between the years of 2034 and 2044. This would be the equivalent of some NBA franchise like the Lakers putting the '92 dream team on the same roster back in the day, but then only paying them a couple decade letter. It's just absurd that this is somehow being allowed by MLB
I wouldn't mind any of the other teams other than the Dodgers winning this year, but especially pulling for my friend, Mike, who has lost so much over the last few years. The Brewers is really one of the few joys he has in life. I think I shared his story last year when the Brewers made a run.
Brewers are beating the dodgers. Brewers don’t rely on the long ball to win. They can manufacture runs.
Avid MLB fan here. I watch a lot of teams, Dodgers included and I get the hate but it's a fun team to watch with so many stars. The Brewers series could be great, that team has some legit arms (Miz is must watch in my opinion).
I fully expect at least a one year lockout and I've read some people saying it could be a multi-year strike, the players union and the owners aren't even on the same planet as far as the next agreement.

That's no an if. It's happening in a matter of weeks. The question then becomes how much of the 2027 season are the sides willing to sacrifice.
