I'm calling BS on these snowflake answers. Sure, as State fans you become jaded as the losses pile up in football, but don't tell me in your core that it doesn't hurt a little in your gut when the team isn't competitive and it's always wash, rinse and repeat no matter who is wearing the maroon & white. This board has over a quarter of a million post and north of 1-2 million views. That doesn't sound like a bunch of guys that don't give a flip. Although some posters deny it, maybe our salvation lies in that four word little phrase "is it baseball yet?"
I agree. No, it doesn’t bother me to the extent that it use to. However, it bothers me none the less. If it didn’t, I, nor anyone else would be hearing discussing “how it doesn’t affect them”. Thats an oxymoron. Carry on.

I only have two family members who went to Mississippi state. The last one is who got me into following Mississippi state. I do have friends on both sides. As I get older, I don’t “hate” ole Miss as a fan of their rival usually does. We’re both in the same state, in a state so small the majority of the other side is and could be our neighbor. So, what’s the point? What they do doesn’t bother me but with that said Oxford isn’t my cup of tea. Too fancy and not enough redneck for me.

I used to be a die hard pro and college football fan. When I realized pro football was fixed I quit watching many years ago. It was funny. I went from watching many games each Sunday and keeping up with the standings to not watching a single game and realizing I regained some quality time to do things with family and friends. I haven't missed it at all. Now if a talking head NFL show is on TV I laugh at the thought that I used to listen to them as I change the channel.

Up until 2 years ago I used to spend my Saturdays watching college games and keeping up with the standings in the SEC. Yesterday I set a personal best for time spent watching college football on a Saturday that State played. 1 hour! Thanks to the ineptitude of our team I was spared the 2 hours I would have watched. NIL, ESPN ownership of College Football and sports betting have ruined it for me. I will continue to watch our games. The rest of college football is dead to me.

State losing doesn't bother me much. It is to be expected due to our demographic. I knew, as most on here did, that we would lose to LSU. At least State got our basketball coach to tout the team on Friday night so we had something to look forward to. I am waiting for the day that college football, like pro football, is changed from sport to entertainment.

I used to take sports (especially college sports) way too seriously. Maybe it's just age, but I finally realized that I didn't need to base my mood on any given game day on what a bunch of 18-21 year olds were doing. I'm still happy when we win and sad when we lose, but to let it ruin my day? Nah.

I came into the season expecting 2 wins, we’ve already gotten 4, doubling my expectations. We may get another one before the season is over. It’s been a great year!
