I would want every player on that sideline—healthy or injured—to communicate one thing:

“This game is bigger than me.”

An enormous gold chain can unintentionally communicate the opposite.
You’re right that the gold chain can send the wrong message. But let’s not stop there. The same culture that allows an injured starter to stand on the sideline looking like a celebrity is the same culture that elevates a preferred walk on with zero offers into the starting role and hands him Dak Prescott’s old number with no pushback. Both are symptoms of the same problem. If the message was supposed to be “this game is bigger than me,” then the entire quarterback situation and the way it’s been handled says the opposite.

Both of you are morons.

Hey WHOEVERTHAFUKYOUARE,

Is there some reasonable explanation for why the bulldoghair account didn’t post a single thing since mid April and all the sudden jumped back in action yesterday and has made 20+ posts in 24 hours.

Just seems a bit odd…

That may have worked 50 years ago, but not nowadays. You forget these are paid athletes.
I’m fully aware as I pay significantly to NIL.
I’m suggesting that having injured players receiving large NIL funds should lead by looking less like a celebrity and more like a teammate.
It unintentionally undermines the team warrior phycology and undermines the willingness of donors to continue to give.

I don’t know how to build a roster with a winning culture but I feel certain that has zero to do with it in 2026

Yet another ”look at me” ”booster” post. Nobody cares what you spend your money on.

Someone please make this stop.

We lost. He’s happy. Some people aren’t happy unless they are unhappy. They build narratives in their head and then feverishly peck away at their keyboard. It has to be miserable.

This is the same account that vomited thousands of words about the stupidity of financially supporting baseball at the expense of football. If he’s happy about the loss he’s got mental issues, which is possible.

The sudden activity isn’t the issue. The issue is that the same people who dismissed the baseball spending argument at the expense of football, are now watching the exact consequence play out. Now the starting qb goes down and we’re starting a preferred walk on with zero offers. You can question the account activity or the content all you want- it doesn’t change the fact that the injury replacements at quarterback and other places expose the prioritization problem that was called out months ago.
Calling someone miserable or mentally unstable for pointing out bad roster construction after a loss is just deflection. The product on the field is validating the earlier criticism.

77 once stood in light,
hair falls quiet in the night.
2 shadows walk where one once stayed,
WR the mask that time has made.
Lucifer asks what cannot be told,
the answer waits in silence cold.
Yet even he, in the final hour,
is gathered home by mercy’s power.
That is a weird way to get to, Yes, I am guessing? Also, AI did a hell of a job coming up with a poem about me. To address the final part consider the source on the whole me going home thing. We have a whole different version of that in my book.

Meh. I don't think a gold chain hurts anything, because it's painfully obvious there are tons of leadership problems plaguing the football program that need to be addressed first before we start worrying about stuff like that. Problems that more than likely start far above what Lebby is even capable of fixing.

What it means is Jeff Lebby has no idea what he’s doing. He blew his assessments despite having the funds to go pick up a guy or two for backups. Lebby has the resources and support, he’s just not good at his job. I honestly think he might be an actual dumb dumb. He sounds dumb when he talks anyway.

This was always going to be part to of the equation once NIL came into being. What about the guy who drives a Mercedes, or lives in bigger house, or any of the other many things differences in payroll can bring into play? Actually probably predates NIL back to the bagman days, these guys know, or worse, think they know what the stars are making in $$$$$

And the same could / should be said about a certain radio / podcast host.

Remind me of the 'gold chain' rhetoric during baseball season. Pretty sure none of them wear them....especially if they're leaders and injured. Good grief...

You yourself said that you have conversations with yourself on here for your own mental health. Your issues aren't something that any of us came up with.

You've never tried to recruit a 17 year old 4- or 5-star high school football player, have you? I'm just guessing.
