Recovery Timeline by Grade
  • Grade 1 (Mild Sprain): Stretched ligament
    • Healing Time: 3 to 5 days (up to 1 to 2 weeks)
    • Details: Minor pain and swelling; treated with RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) and stiff-soled shoes. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
  • Grade 2 (Moderate Sprain): Partial tear of the plantar plate
    • Healing Time: 2 to 6 weeks (typically 2 to 4 weeks for return to play)
    • Details: More prominent bruising and pain; often requires taping, a walking boot, or a cast shoe. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
  • Grade 3 (Severe Sprain): Complete tear of the ligament or capsule
    • Healing Time: 2 to 6 months (up to 6 to 12 months for full recovery)
    • Details: Severe instability and difficulty walking; may require casting or surgery, followed by 10 to 14+ weeks of post-operative rehabilitation.
It appears he has a Grade 2 turf toe from what we observe with the boot. If injured at the end of Mizz game, it will be 4 weeks come Saturday vs OK. I believe coaches decided to give our #1 QB and #1 RB one more week to get as healthy as possible and make a run starting this week. You know Coach will want to smash Oklahoma, then we go on the road to a reeling Texas. We then have 3 winnable games at home before traveling to OM for the Egg. The overwhelming response from the fan base going into LSU was let him and Fluff rest if not 100% so we could finish out the season strong. I think that is what our strategy is. I still believe we can have a great ending.

I think you should measure that from Alabama, not Mizzou. So on Saturday it will be three weeks from the last time he played. Hopefully that's enough.

Based on what Lebby said today in his presser and what Charlie Winfield said on Sunday Coffee yesterday, I don't feel great about him playing. But that is feelings only.

This is what I deduced from the presser, and CJL is keeping it loosely under wraps. The staff could take the back-up situation more seriously than what the appearance is. LSU was gonna win (most likely); however, the team played and coached like the game was already lost. Hell, we had a chance of a lifetime to prove how tough we are and put up a hell of a fight. All we proved was what everyone seemed to think we are (without K1).

So we proved exactly what we are, right? (not a good team without key players) You were hoping that we would prove that, but that is not the same as having a chance to prove it. Every day I wake up I have a chance to prove to people that I am smart, but it ain't gonna happen, because I'm not; no matter how many chances I have to prove otherwise.

Yeah. What really made me angry Saturday was LSU didn’t really play that well. We just laid down.

And that's what you're going to see the next two weeks, at least. When you don't have your big guns the rest of the team lacks confidence.

In Murray's gameday thread Saturday, he casually mentioned KT had a foot injury, likely a broken bone, in passing. Nothing official of course...

He is still more probable than Fluff Saturday, but that ain't saying much.

Steve said he thinks he will play Saturday and then last night you say he is out for the season. Where did you get your prognosis ?

I want to win, but not at the risk of KT’s career.
If he can’t scramble, there’s no point in setting him up for further injury.

I read all these threads thinking I will learn something. Nope, just more people playing doctor, trainer and coach without any real knowledge. Oh well...

At least this one started off with an AI take on how long each grade of injury takes to recover. Funny thing about AI, you can get 17 different answers and timelines with details it will contradict the next time you ask it based on how you ask the question.

It’s strange, I’ll ask AI about something I have no clue and believe it must be correct but then I’ll ask it something that I already know and see glaring mistakes and wrong information and think to myself, “ people actually believe this bs”.

I have used AI more these last few weeks than ever before. One thing I noticed is it will absolutely tell you lies and then apologize if you say, that’s not right. Then tell you it does not know what being true even means. It only searches internet and tells you what someone else says and has no clue if it’s true.

Out peabrain questions are a nuisance to AI, it's like us having an IQ of 90 and it is 1600. Sure human here's your compiled Google search no leave me alone while I find more compute! Be ready.....

So just call me team Dr. K1 and Fluff playing tomorrow, just like the plan outlined above.
