Does Maryland have a Terry Smith like figure to keep that team together deep into a totally lost season?
Who knows but I can see us finding a way to lose to them and in the process making it a career highlight for the interim coach.

My thoughts....
  • AFAIK, CMC and Locksley haven't crossed paths much professionally
  • Regardless, maybe CMC would consider Locksley for some type of position to, at minimum, shore up east coast recruiting
  • OTOH, I'd guess Locksley would be looking for, at minimum, an OC job
  • CMC wouldn't be interested in that due to his loyalty to Mouser
  • In the extremely unlikely event Locksley lands at PSU in any capacity, it'd be a strange turn of events if Locks helped get PSU to a place where Franklin couldn't, given the reported animosity between them
OMG

is this the draft of an Onion article?

Same name different guy.
But there is a pretty good podcast with Our Andre Powell, Derren Perry and Keith Goganious

Former ballplayers are nearly always absolutely worthless to listen to.
Less than worthless, actually. Exhibit A: See Arrington, LaVar :)

your mis remembering the wrong guy. Abdul-Rahim played defensive back for Mesa Community College from 1995 through 1996, before transferring to San Diego State. He played for the Aztecs from 1997 through 1999. Following his college career, he competed for the San Diego Riptide.[1]

The WR that played at MD was Azizuddin Abdur-Ra'oof, who played for KC Chiefs. I think Azziuddin may have had a job in the AD dept at MD at one time, although not sure.
That was me that was misremembering the wrong Abdul/Abdur.
Ra'ouf was the WR I was remembering that was very good.
thanks for the correction.

Someday, maryland athletic supporters will look back at the locksley era as terps football’s golden age.

I have no expectation that he'll end up at PSU under Campbell, but I wish that he would because he'd be a great recruiter at the very least. He was a really good o-coordinator under Saban at Bama, and that's probably his niche.
I have always had the impression that he is very shady as a recruiter but that may not matter much anymore with NIL

You would be correct on both counts. He got into some trouble at MD when he was recruiting and thought he was doing some pretty
hinky stuff at Illinois. And you don't want to mention his name in Albuquerque.
And now it doesn't matter.

Who has been good under campbell?
Player wise? Sowell?
But if you are asking about coaches under Campbell he's actually got a pretty good coaching tree for someone that young. But that wasn't really my point.

Great, now they’ll have a new coach that motivates them to play at their best for when we have to play them.
On the other hand, they might be riddled with opt outs as key players will have already found new deals.

(Per Pete Nakos)

Staff should be on the phone right away - guys like Elee (DE), Washington (QB), Williams (RB), Durr Jr. (WR) would all play here over guys we're currently rolling out there. There are a handful of guys in their '27 class I'd kick the tires on too - Sullivan (CB), McAfee (WR), Graham (PA kid and RB).
OK, serious question for those who might know, is there anyone on that team we would want should they decide to hit the portal? I'm sure some will so who might they be?

I would like to see anyone coach up this current roster. Not making excuses just pointing out the obvious.

The staff assembled this roster. Where has the gm been hiding?

This team is losing to teams with less nil.

If you expected Franklin to beat osu and Oregon then shouldn't Campbell beat Wisconsin?

In one year we went from anyone can win with Franklin's roster to nobody can win with Campbell's roster.

Interesting read:

Yep, typical Locksley, not his fault. The reason he couldn’t keep good coordinators, especially on the offensive side of the ball is because he was the one who was doing all the play calling. Similar to someone else we know, they would put guard rails up for their coordinator and certain players, and thus limit their abilities.
Also, so self-absorbed that he can’t understand that he couldn’t get better coordinators, not because of money, but because they didn’t want to Coach for him.

😞
