They can if you signed a contract locking you into that conference. Either pay the buyout or STFU."You cannot lock us into a conference," he says, flatly.
Yep. Just depends on how badly Miami wants out. They literally just agreed to this reduced buyout schedule just a year or two ago. If you want out, it's real simple. Write a $147 million check. Or wait until the buyout goes down to an amount you do want to pay.Maybe in a few years it would be slightly more appealing but that fee is mighty steep for the next couple of years.

I think, in that context, he was talking about the PCSA, that is trying to limit the conference transfers. They can if you signed a contract locking you into that conference. Either pay the buyout or STFU.
I do agree with him there. Not necessarily that they can't (I'm no legal expert), but that's it's just a very very bad idea to even try to.I think, in that context, he was talking about the PCSA, that is trying to limit the conference transfers.
12 or 10 P4 games? 12 P4 games would be suicide. I saw something about an agreement for 10 P4 games to be eligible for the playoff. That might explain why we went ahead and lined up a series with Oklahoma State. If what this Siskey guy says is true, Miami would be wise to stay where they are.
He says the P4 will announce soon that there is an agreement to play 12 P4 games. The B1G and SEC have agreed for one of those games to include one another.
They just want a cut of the moneyIf what this Siskey guy says is true, Miami would be wise to stay where they are.

This post is Exhibit A why people like you aren’t making these types of decisions.Miami adds nothing to the SEC. Neither does FSU. We need a school from Virginia and North Carolina. I’d say VATech and NC State are the best fit. They would do whatever it takes to jump. Then we could collect UNC and Virginia as an afterthought, much the same as Texas and Oklahoma.
Hahahahaha WTFMiami adds nothing to the SEC. Neither does FSU. We need a school from Virginia and North Carolina. I’d say VATech and NC State are the best fit. They would do whatever it takes to jump. Then we could collect UNC and Virginia as an afterthought, much the same as Texas and Oklahoma.
Miami would be first on my list if I'm the B1G.Miami, FSU, & Clemson want out of the ACC
The ACC schools that interest the SEC/Big 10 are Virgina, UNC
The ACC has a damned mess. You have to think a majority of the schools could possibly vote to blow up the conference.
Don’t kid yourself. VA Tech and NC State wouldn’t even move the needle for the sec. Well they would but it would be backwards. Miami & FSU are huge national programs, as is UNC.Miami adds nothing to the SEC. Neither does FSU. We need a school from Virginia and North Carolina. I’d say VATech and NC State are the best fit. They would do whatever it takes to jump. Then we could collect UNC and Virginia as an afterthought, much the same as Texas and Oklahoma.
Exactly. Adding VA Tech & NC State might have made sense 25 years ago. Not today. This post is Exhibit A why people like you aren’t making these types of decisions.
Nobody said they didn't. We are laughing at you for choosing NC State and Va Tech as the first choices, dubmass.TV markets still matter. We are already in Florida.
I said they were the best fit culturally. UVA and UNC are not SEC type schools. Worse fits than Missouri.Nobody said they didn't. We are laughing at you for choosing NC State and Va Tech as the first choices, dubmass.
Not so much. National markets matter. And Miami brings a different Florida market than Florida does anyway. If you want to know which ACC schools might be attractive to the SEC or Big 10, just look at the votes to add the west coast s hoops or support the legislation limiting conference size. Theres Miami, FSU, UNC & Clemson. Then there’s everyone else.TV markets still matter. We are already in Florida.
