Keep in mind this family descendant does not speak for all native Americans, just themselves, obviously they have a financial or political motive. If nothing more than to draw attention to themselves.

and by the way, 18isthe man, please do some research before you start making your assumptions. The movement to get the name change was started by other Native Americans in 1972 and was eventually aided by others joining as well to get it changed.

1972: A delegation of 11 Native American leaders met with team president Edward Bennett Williams and asked him to change the name, calling it a “derogatory racial epithet.”

I'm so glad they got that name changed, along with the Cleveland Indians and the West Georgia Braves and all the other native American names that were changed. Don't forget removing the image of the Indian girl on Land O Lakes butter packages The improvement in life for American Indians since the name changes has been remarkable. I think it might be more dramatic than the improvement in black people's lives since images of Uncle Ben and Aunt Jemima were taken off of packages.

Who knew the solution to those populations problems were so simple?

Well how about some name a little less stupid then. ‘Commanders’ sounds like one of those robot teams on the jetsons.

The title of the Thread looked intriguing.
The recycled feigned outrage from individuals who need a reason to complain is tiresome.
Hope that clears it up for you.
Person who doesn't care continuing to engage....hmmm

I don't see any outrage on here. Can you reference a particular post?

We could start with your first one.

Oh damn, looked what I just did. Now you will probably feel compelled to answer, and continue to play message board tennis.

But this family speaks for SOME Indians.

I don't think there's any one individual or group who speaks for ALL Indians.

I'm with the Indian or Indians who favor Redskins and I don't care what the motive is.
