But my gut says normalcy returns this week. UT is a top 15 team, and we are a 1-3 conference team. I know all the reasons we could win, and I'd like our chances better if the game hadn't become such a trendy upset pick. UT probably comes in and performs like a top 15 team, and we don't handle the big stage very well.

Can we, of course. Will we, who knows? We aren't terrible, but we aren't great either and Tennessee seems to be about the same.

The whole SEC looks like a tossup right now outside of Vandy and MSSt.

The thing is, I think Carolina is great but also very inconsistent. I think it’s the reason Carolina is favored tomorrow. Because of the elite guys on the the team, I’d probably put them in the 4-7 range in the conference when those guys show up and produce. They just haven’t been a consistent football team. Against Georgia or Alabama, even with the elite players on the team producing, Carolina still isn’t a better football team. Against the majority of the teams in the conference, if these guys show up and play, they can win and win big.

Like Pate said, when all our stars play like stars, the casual fan would look at us and wonder how we ever lose any games.

Just too inconsistent.

The Miami and Pittsburgh game will be the noon game on ESPN. I believe this game should be a blow out and the game should end before the start of the South Carolina game so you would not have to watch the start of the South Carolina game on another network then turn back to ESPN.

Been a Gamecock fan for far too long to think we'll win. I'm fully expecting a 41-13 loss. :(

Boy, people dump on ND b/c of their schedule, but Miami has the easiest schedule of just about anyone in the nation.

I'm not sure I'd go with "great", good is more like it. Outside of Sellers, who is an elite athlete but far from an elite QB, and Stewart, who are the "elite" players? Harbor? I don't think so. He is fast running in a straight line after he has time to get up to speed, but he is far from an elite football player. The RBs are SEC caliber, but they aren't elite.

I don’t think Sellers is an elite quarterback, but when he is on, he is an elite difference maker for sure. I’ve been critical of Sellers, but he is a veteran and still has the ability to dictate outcomes. Stewart is an elite player in the country regardless of position. I don’t think the coaches have used Harbor right. He’s not a natural pass catcher. I think you get him 10+ catches in the flat and let him get a head of steam, he could be having 150+ yard days. I’d put Peak into this category as well.

We will need Sellers to go beast mode and take over like he did for the home game against A&M in 2024.

I shouldn't share this, but why the hell not............

I've got this weird feeling that we blow them out. Something to the tune of 38-13.

I would not be stunned if they lose at UNC.
I would love it.

The only real threat Harbor brings is deep fly patterns where he can outrun the defender. Throwing to him in the flat would guarantee he was tackled pretty much in the exact spot the caught the ball. He takes too long to build speed and isn't shifty enough to make that first LB or DB miss him.

But he’s physical. He’s definitely not one to make guys miss in open space. Maybe it’s too unconventional or I’m flat out wrong. Motion him in the backfield, run rpo and hit him with short passes where he can pickup 5+ yards, 5-10 times a game. Sort of like an extension of the running game. It’s just my opinion. I think people get lost in schemes and play calling, when you can’t teach that size.

We're not going to catch UT with their pants down this time around. They will be bringing the full heat with the odds disrespect and what happened in 2022 to destroy their season.

We have the ability to win the game but they better play for 60 minutes like they did at UF or it will get out of hand fast.

That said, if this staff can pull off a dominating performance on the road against a really good UF team and follow it up by beating a UT team that completely disposed of BAMA last weekend -- that would be one of the biggest back-to-back sequenes we've ever seen.

So you're saying UT is gonna keep their pants up in preparation for our COCKS?!

I think our top guys are better than their top guys but median-wise they’re a tick over us. As noted elsewhere, if we win this game Sellers is going to have to win it; whether that happens is anybody’s guess but I see Tennessee in a very close one pulling something out their derrière at the end as usual. 31-29, something like that.

No, the Tennessee defense is the best in the SEC, where Florida's defense ranks in the bottom third of the conference. While I was very happy to see the Gamecocks win in Gainesville, the Vols are a much better football team defensively. The margin for error for our qb is very small against a defense of this caliber.

for me, it's more Sellers not making critical mistakes, such a turning the ball over(either throwing into coverage or fumbling), completely overlooking very open receivers to maintain possession, while staring down his primary receiver from the snap. I expect the Vols to focus upon forcing us into 3rd and long situations to apply mental pressure upon Sellers.

Same here. ChatGPT says UT wins 27-24. Could be a little worse than that ... 34-24 maybe.

Praying for an upset win ...

Beamer had two weeks to prepare, we will probably look like crap and get blown out by UT. Some Beamerball trick play will probably backfire and start the downfall…

It’s 4th and 1 on our own 20, let’s fake the punt and throw a tackle eligible pass…

No. All my sports teams have lost so far this weekend. When that happens we usually lose.

while I was hoping Sellers would play a clean game, however he made a very costly mistake, yet again.
