Wild first half in Bloomfield that eventually ended with the Bee's state record for consecutive playoff appearances stop at 38. 12-0 Bloomfield before N/O touched the ball by way of two onside kicks to start the game (and a 3rd that was dang close). Because of injuries, fumbled snaps, etc. they played 4 different kids at QB in the first half. with 1:22 remaining in the 2nd they held a 18-16 lead and had 4th and 5 from the minus 30 and were to receive the 2nd half kickoff. They went for it instead of punting it away and N/O scored 16 points in 52 seconds to lead 32-18 and the rest was history.

Heck, it may be Boys Towns year. Especially with Ashland Greenwoods starting QB going down for the season a week or two ago.

Surprised to see Standing Bear end with a winning record. They were a 4 win team in class B last year and got crushed by the top B teams. What a big improvement they have made year of year. Yes I know enrollment has improved dramatically but still. Not easy to start from scratch. Good for them.

Always a bummer to see those kind of streaks end.

C1 is going to be so interesting to watch. Boys Town looks to be the best of the bunch, but they haven't been in this situation in a long time. They haven't made it out of the first round of the playoffs since 2017.

Can Sidney get it done? The last champion in C1 west of Kearney was Cozad in 2013. Before that it was NPSP in 1985.

I think the question for Sidney is can their offense score enough points to win. I think their Defense gives them a chance in any game. But im not as convinced their Offense can score on teams that have a solid D.

Agree with that. They have only broken 30 points three times this year. Their defense will need to be stout and score a few times if the offense can't show up.

Bellevue West also had a 22-year playoff streak snapped with their loss last night.

After last night, I think Standing Bear seems likely to get into the Class A playoffs as a 15 or 16 seed.
