He has looked good. Credit pope for developing him. I still maintain him as your main 2g isn’t great. He doesn’t get his own shot and not a great ball handler. On D he’s a risk taker but gets lost a lot. Loved him off the bench though. Great spark plug guy who can come in get a steal or 2 and 10-15 points.

Haha yea he was restricted from dribbling for ff his feet. They keep saying he left to expand his game but he’s playing the same way there. He left because his wife wanted to and that’s fine. Got to have a happy wife. And the money was great too
Probably restricted due to having O.O. and D.A. being ball dominant guards. Even with that Chandler needed to work on his ball handling when here, but still hated losing him.
Just telling what the announcer said, I could care less, but in fairness to him I remember numerous times he would be wide open and Aberdeen would refuse to pass him the ball.I think that was a big part of last years problem too much me and a not enough we on the team.
Yes I’ve watched some of their exhibitions and heard it. It’s what you expect to hear. He’s not going to say money or throw his wife under the bus. I hope he kills it out there. Loved him as a player at UK. Aberdeen and Oweh did that a lot to to a lot of people. Loved OO but he was gonna get his no matter what last year.

I'm old enough to remember him in college, and when I read "Sampson" it took me a minute. Then I thought, sheesh, three dudes in the last 40 years doesn't give me much hope. But then I also remembered there aren't a lot of 7'5" dudes roaming around playing competitive basketball either. Lol
The Alton giant!!! Haven't heard that name in a while. Grew up not too far from Alton. Got told about him in an elementary class back in the 80s. Remember looking him up in the encyclopedia. I thought it was fake, but sure enough. Dude was damned near 9 ft tall.
Come on guys and gals, we’ve seen this one a time or forty before, if the guy is legit, and by all accounts he is, the NIL heavy hitters will be getting involved soon, and it will be curtains for Pope yet again.

I don’t think Mark Pope coaches to have a presence down low . He doesn’t want his big man clogging up the lane making it difficult for teamates to get to the rim .
He wants them on the perimeter setting screens.
You don't need to get to the rim with this dude. Just throw it up to where no one else can get it and let the big man do the rest.
