Basketball...The lineup I'd use to start the season

Right now I think it's safe to say Kentucky's 4 best players are Malachi, Milan, Mason Williams, and Alex Wilkins. I see a lot of potential in Ousmane but what if he keeps shooting threes like he did the last two exhibitions(2/15 I think)? We can't afford to have him work out the shooting in tight games and it doesn't look like Hawthorne or McBride are ready for big minutes and Kam Williams probably won't be back until late November and he'll be rusty. While most of us probably think Williams is better than Zoom we still need Zoom and benching him might hurt his confidence.
So...I think I'd go with this lineup to start the year:

PG-Williams
SG-Wilkins
SF-Diallo
PF-Momcilovic
C-Moreno

I never wanted Mom to play the four, primarily because of defense, but I think we'd be good enough defensively at the 1-3 to make that our best lineup for now. Diallo really looks more like a forward with a decent handle anyway more than a point guard. As a forward he could beat a lot of them off the dribble and if most of his in game threes(and practice threes) were from the corner on catch and shoot I think he'd shoot decently from 3 point range and be a decent forward defender.

I like your lineup because Hawthorne can come in for Zoom and also gives Zoom some flexibility to move and attack. Lots of lineup potential but truly the combinations don’t matter that much since we really only have 3 playable guards.

At this point I want any lineup that doesn't have Zoom in it. Maybe the guy is just really pressing but I am concerned whenever he touches the ball.

I think you've GOT to have Minchey in there somewhere. I mean, c'mon, guys!
Odd take maybe since I’m cross referencing sports but I think Williams has a couple attributes that I love about Minchey. Poise and confidence. Williams just seems so comfortable out there.

Some things you can teach and some things you just have

Not sure it’s the right answer, but I saw something with Wilkins at the point. He thrived and so did we. I also see something with N’Diaye. The dude shoots and it’s usually off short or long, which indicates good form. If he starts knocking those effortless 3’s down that you can’t block - watch out. UK needs to focus on developing that guy. He’s gold if he starts becoming more efficient.

The thing I like best about Wilkins is that he busts his *** on defense more than any guard we had last year.

Starting 3 guards leaves a very thin bench. Williams may grow into the starting lineup but right now it is better to ease him into games where he can watch the first few minutes

N’Diaye is the best player on the team. As long as he can stay consistent and continue to improve This Dude’s, definitely a game changer for us.

This is the way. I dunno how well N’Diaye will really serve us but this approach lets us maximize what we get from everybody else and all we really need from the four spot is don’t pull us down too much. From what I saw last night I’d also go some spells playing small with Hawthorne at the four at times, play zone with that lineup.
