Didn’t realize Kenny Menchey was a senior

All this time I thought he was a junior. Will he have a 5th year of eligibility next year? For that matter, will all our seniors have that option? I can’t keep up with all the legalities.

Under the old rules, he's a redshirt junior and has one more year of eligibility. Under the new rules, he's in his 4th year out of 5 and has one more year of eligibility.

I’d be a little surprised if that happened. He may get a “raise”, but he seems pretty happy here, and the system is as good as there is in the country. The bigger question is can we keep the weapons around him.
Exactly, we will need Darby as well. Bidding wars will not be out strength though if the current success continues it might not be a problem next year. At some point we simply cannot match some of these schools. We should try to keep Menchey who has performed well in the SEC. gambling on an inexperienced quarterback is a roll of the dice.

I doubt minchey would even entertain leaving. Stein is a QB guy and he bailed on Nebraska for him already.

Minchey is the biggest beneficiary of Coach Stein’s offense. I’m sure he would not have this level of success anywhere else. Is he an NFL draft pick next summer?
I’d like to see Stein resurrect Arch Manning next season.

All the other positions are important as well. I’m hoping with the success we’ve had this year, we’ll be in the $35 million range for salary next year and can reload position groups like the OL.
