Shirley you aren’t suggesting he would be coaching, recruiting and NILing better if he was paid more?
I am suggesting we are paying based on how we should expect to perform. No we will not get any better by paying Lebby more, but we shouldn't be surprised when our head coaches salary is less than our direct competition and we don't do well.

Brian O'Connor is the 2nd highest paid baseball coach in the country. We have high expectations for baseball and are paying based off those expectations. If he doesn't make the CWS this year baseball will be a disappointment. It's all relative

All of the things y’all are saying are true. However, I can’t help but think, what the hell did we expect to happen tonight? A close game with Texas? A win? We’ve been watching this for 21/2 years now. We are meh to ****** even with KaMario. We just don’t have the complete roster.

We didn't pay him that way so he could get a pass on the job he is doing, He was given an opportunity to show what he could do and EARN a bigger paycheck. He hasn't done that. And if he can't do that, he needs to go and we need to try somebody else.

Fact:

Expectations are low but with other teams over performing by upsetting top-ranked teams will always create hope within this fanbase crying “why not us?”
Hope is an ugly thing.

Recruiting doesn’t not matter now at all. It’s all about NIL. The blame is on us for that.
State is 25th in the NIL nationally but allocates the lowest percentage to football of any other SEC team. If they did 75-80% allocation to football they would be around the top 15 in football spending. State doesn’t have a money problem they have a priority problem.

The minor sport of college baseball rears its ugly head. No surprise. Baseball DOES NOT MATTER when it comes to the business of college athletics. Football, and then football, and then football matters. Men’s basketball is a distant whatever. Softball is behind that. Then we get to baseball. College baseball is a luxury sport.

Even with Puckett we should be able to out talent Vandy and Tenn Tech. If he can't win both those games I agree we need to move on. Florida and Auburn are historically good programs and were still only able to get sitting American conference head coaches. And they paid a few more mill than us. I'd love to think we could pull a sitting lower level ACC or big 12 coach but we'd need to be willing to throw down some serious moolah

This times a million. If we as a fan base treated football as some treat baseball then we could change the dynamics of this program. We deserve to win, we should win. I wished to god we as a fan base would commit to changing our football narrative.
First step is getting rid of Lebby and investing in a new coach and NIL. If OM can elevate so can we

From a guy who’s been in the same job for 20 years? I don’t think so.
Never mind. My memory is whacked.
But the point is moot assuming the president is doing the hiring instead of the AD. You cannot give him grief for hires if you don’t give him credit.
