Zitron is insane. He literally claims that AI itself has no positive value for business or society. LOL! He’s just trying to be Burry 2.0 at all cost.
Anyone that has even tinkered with co-pilot at work on job tasks will understand why AI is for real. The productivity gains are insane.

How long before SpaceX announces a SI phone that F’s Apple? When the telco swirl first hit the media I heard Elon wasn’t going to develop iPhone competitor. I don’t believe it.

iPhones are not the best phones. But the apple ecosystem makes it irreplaceable.

IDK what really makes a phone the best, but iPhone checks all the right boxes and has the ecosystem. But if Elon is going to have Starlink, self-driving cars, humanoids, In-home battery storage, and mini-data centers (soon), then it seems like a Starlink phone becomes the perfect remote control.

Need to sell a lot more cars to make a dent. Tesla has about 2% of the auto market share.

Zitron is popular now because his early math and investment predictions have been right on. Watch a Zitron podcast and its mostly about financial hallucinations. AI has a lot of different uses and angles. I'm not against all AI and even like that I've waited 30 years for certain investments that aspects of AI makes possible. I like Palmer Luckey's way of explaining AI use. Luckey is best guy in tech.

Zitron isn't so much against AI as he is the hyperbolic claims over generative AI (MIT study confirmed) and the wildly irresponsible financial manipulations. People invested in AI over extremely irresponsible claims that stoked FOMO. Ed has the math and that is what woke people up instead of AI uses. The math is awful and investors finally realized it, Claims are crashing in China and US. Ed has called for legal investigations which make sense

Mark Cuban sees the same thing. Recall Cuban got rich on software and tech. He survived dot.com bust knowing where the lines between BS and facts were

Copilot? Is Copilot worth billions of dollars in hardware and data center investment? Many users hate Copilot and MS is pulling it back - its spyware. Recall how government tried squeezing people into EVs when America's crappy 3rd world grid couldn't handle it. That's how people feel about AI being force fed them.

This week the truly creepy Sam Altman laments that people should not have RAM in their personal computers because data centers need it. As a PC enthusiast who spent many hours in tech forums the tech guys are some of the the most stuck-up and toxic people going. They aren't engineers but glorified code monkeys who think they should run the world

I’ll be the first to admit I hated co-pilot when it first launched and b!tched about it here. And I’m not suggesting it’s perfect. But it’s embedded in M365 which is where I spend a ton of work time between Teams, Outlook, etc. There are projects that should have taken me 2 days that now take me 2 hours. It’s not perfect but good enough. Would I brand a PC based on co-pilot = No chance as it’s just a productivity tool. That would be like branding a MS Outlook PC. I basically use c-pilot for work and Gemini for personal and I’m amazed at the efficiency gains.

Because Ant and OpenAI will be king and queen of AI forever with exponential growth forever!
I’m half kidding. But extrapolating beyond points of relative certainty is nothing more than speculative financial modeling. All models are wrong but some are useful.
At $1T market cap. Anthropic is fairly reasonable on the most recent qtr’s revs of $17 B.

Guy on thursday compound had a more reasonable bear case for AI.

basically where as the claims are something like $1T in revs by 2030 he thought the more likely revs by that time is $400b. He just saw no way of it reaching $1t. And he’s a rebuttable guy in the field.

Zitrons a podcast loon.

When Copilot Researcher launched in March/April, it was a revolutionary step forward. We are now working on an AWS based AI engine that can interpret visual charts and data.....and then dump the output right in PowerPoint! Last week, one of my junior team members accomplished a 2-3 day request in 43 minutes.

Anyone that downplays the benefits of gen AI is a moron.

This is why I’m sitting on a pile of cash in my trading account. Even Ackman feels the market may be broken. I’m still building positions but very slow. And trying to stick to quality although even those are tough to figure out. Marriott hit a $430 52-week and 10-year high less than a month after I sold at around $365. Gas, consumer, and international travel apparently mattered when it dropped to $330 but last few weeks nobody cares.

Capital markets flashed red months ago on data centers. The market just seems dislocated. It could snap right back and head new highs or drop another 10-15%.

It’s the spec trading, option gambling, AI trading agents/bots, algos, etc.

If it snaps back it not because anything changed other than the trading patterns. These platforms are all moving in coordinated patterns whether intentional or not.

That’s why I look at the credit side.
