Pitino was at least genuine. He used his true personality to get his point across, Dan Hurley's schtick is very fake. He’s all about putting on a show. It’s not real and now that he has a couple titles under his belt, he feels like he's untouchable, so he knows he can say and do whatever he wants.

The paths he’s had during titles are infuriating. Unreal the 2015 had to get by a generational notre dame team in the elite 8.

Exactly, he's ultra self aware including on the sideline. You can tell he knows the cameras are trained on him and thats the point of all his childinsh mugging and playing to them.

I don’t ever remember Pitino talking like that what are you referring to?
Yeah, gotta say I don't understand this thought process at all. Pitino was NEVER a d#$k on Hurley's level! He was confident, brash even. But he never did anything like this. He always appreciated BBN's adoration. He's probably lumping in Rick's time at UL if I had to guess. But, that had nothing to do with his time at UK.

Pitino was a dick and I still loved him as a coach.
Pitino still knew how to be somewhat gracious in moments like this. And pitino was a young coach when he was somewhat a d bag. What is Hurleys excuse at this point? Nothing. There is a big difference between Pitino and Hurley.

I prefer winning national titles and making final fours so id love him as UK coach. A lot of successful people in their industries are perks. If he was our jerk most (except u and a small percentage) would care.
Some seem to want a boy scout leader as coach. They forgot a married Pitino banging a woman on a table and paying for an abortion also

Exactly. If Hurley came in here and won back to back titles and won every game by double digits n both ncaa tournaments, he could chuck basketballs at my face and junk for 1 hour straight.

Exactly you have to be a little bit of a dick when you're a coach at a school like UK... You just have to have a level of cockiness that's off the charts.... You also have to be able to win to back it up or the sharks will eat you....

Fans will put up with the coach being a jerk as long as they win and win a lot. But as soon as he starts having some down years and underachieving then the fans will start to not be so tolerant.

I think to me it’s just the issue about being a straight up prick to those “beneath” you or who did something nice for him. Like I’m fine with him being a fierce competitor. But when somebody wants to do something nice for you be freaking gracious and have a little gratitude.

If he doesn’t want it. Stuff it in the attic. But say thank you. I’m sick of the lack of manners in society. And being a top performer doesn’t excuse not having them. Sorry not sorry.
