Its amazing to see us at 6 but realistically we should've been 4. Our record and strength of schedule is clearly one of the best resumes. Us being at 6 with this resume tells us we are on thin ice.

I think it signals we can lose to either UT or mizzou and still have a great chance of getting in. Just can't lose to both and definitely cant lose to either Florida or Louisville.

You are correct that our record and strength of schedule should have had us higher, but I think that the committee view it as we are two two point conversions from having three losses. If we would have won those two games by say 7 points each, there would be no doubt.

As it is, our record is what it is. A win is a win, but there are those who are still wary. Hopefully we win Saturday and any doubt is erased.

I agree with this. UK doesn't fully pass the eye test to the committee and I get why. That said, if we win 3 of our last 4 by 1 point each and lose the other by 28 again. UK is 100% in.

At 9 and 3 I just think too many biases on brand and propaganda come into play. Head to head is tough if there are a bunch of 9 and 3 sec wins. The committee has more room to screw UK.

Nice, but this is meaningless unless we beat TN. I could see us flipping ranking with them if they beat us. We win & I think we finish in top 8.
This is now UT's motivational game of the year and they will come at us really hard with max pressure. I hope and trust that Will and Co have been planning for that style this weekend. We just can be suprised by it and spend the first half trying to adjust to it and get behind. Expect max pressue on Kenny and hit them with the quick stuff to break them. Can sit back too long in the pocket this gam, play action may be tough.

That’s firmly where I’m at. I want to be excited but part of me just can’t get over feeling we’re in for a steep fall. Trauma is hard to recover from lol

I mean the schedule is brutal.

We have also been clutch to win 3 of our games. Usually that goes the other way at some point if u keep finding uself in close games. Not everyone can be 2010 auburn and win them all or lucky 2002 osu.

I hope we can finish 10 and 2. If u put a gun to my head id say 9 and 3 though.

Great news. So can we now stop talking about the stupid AP poll? That was just time wasted worrying about nothing.

Turns out we’re sitting quite fine in the ONLY rankings that actually matter.
Lol you can always skip the threads you dont like. 99% of the threads are spent talking/ worrying about things that dont matter. The AP poll has been around 100 years and has always been a big part of CFB tradition, that's why people talk about it. It also shows the public perception about a particular school. You can be sure Stein has used our rankings to show his players that the rest of the world dont believe in them. And yes CFB playoff rankings are what matters, but they just came out. There wouldn't be a rafters if people only talked about things that matter.

I don’t really care where we’re at right now because unless we can go 3-1 against the remainder of our schedule, we’re not getting into the playoffs.

We’re not Alabama where we could theoretically get in at 9-3 due of the committee jerking off the big brands.

Then explain IU.
Couple of OT squeakers in their season too.

Where we are now is important because if we were ranked properly we could maybe lose to ut and mizzou and still get in. Since we're constantly undervalued this season, it makes it highly unlikely.

Like you said, lots of football left. Its just good to be on the radar this late in the season.

This guy disagrees.

That guy's Danny Kannell JR.

Literally every article he posts on Outkick is anti sec and spewing sec hate. Im not saying hes always wrong, but hes so biased I cant take him serious anymore.

Why isn’t Tennessee 4th?
Because they have 2 losses, oh wait Bama has 2 losses. Oh then it must be that Bama loss to number 1, wait Tenn had a loss to number 1. I got it Bama, then the answer is that Bama’s second loss was to a ranked team and Tenn’s second loss was to an unranked team. Therefore Bama losing to Tenn was a better loss than Tenn losing to SC. Perfect logic.
