I like how he played with confidence but those 3 missed 3’s late were lame & uncalled for. Didn’t bet it but they didn’t cover .

Gives me Ament, Prince, Wagler vibes.
Hope he continues to get more minutes as season goes. He is skilled and plays really damn hard on both ends. Think shots will fall at a higher clip as he gets more and more comfortable.

He’s just now learning how to use that length. He is going to alter a lot of three-point shots which makes the success percentage go down. This really changes things when he’s on the floor. This can also be said about N’Daiye (sp?), which is why it’s hard to tell how high the ceiling is defensively. Very important stuff. They don’t have to get up in the grill of three point shooters only to have them go around them to the basket, they can leave enough space to keep the man in front of them and still affect the shot.

Was at the game an kept an eye on him.
Brought energy off the bench and scrapped.
Still not sure if he can get strong enough, but mostly liked what I saw.

I’d like to see the 3 become a weapon for him, something 35% or higher that way he can use to set up driving to the basket. I’m sure he will only get better as the season goes, gotta remember he sat out an entire season. I know he practiced all last year but it’s just not the same as in game action.

Ament was a great shooter. Hawthorne………???
The numbers last season don't evidence that Ament was a great shooter. Actually his 39% FG number was very bad for someone at his size & position. His 3P% wasn't terrible. It wasn't great either, not even good really. But he shot it so often I believe he hurt TN. But he was only a freshman and lower shooting percentages are to be expected.

Maybe Ament does end up being a great shooter and maybe he's already showing signs of that (I haven't watched him in the NBA), but I don't think Hawthorne is going to get a ton of playing time shooting at a 39% FG clip.
