Sure, blame the substation. This is what they’re up against.

See the link below. From the article:

”The theory that has been making the rounds on the internet and has crept its way into the 49ers' locker room -- receiver Kendrick Bourne alluded to it after tight end George Kittle tore his right Achilles in the playoff game against Philadelphia -- suggests the Niners' lengthy injury list over the past decade-plus can be attributed, in part, to excessive exposure to electromotive force (EMF).”

Across the road is a beer store… build a new facility on that side of the road and see how the injuries go down!

I've been following this one for awhile. The dude who is investigating this comes off well and appears to be legitimately curious about it. However, more scientific work needs to be done to determine whether what's being emitted is actually dangerous over time. When I first heard the story, I was thinking they should test someone who is at the stadium every day, like security guards or grounds crew. Interesting topic so far.

I have heard of EMF from power lines and substations being connected to cancer and birth defects before. But I have to think connecting EMF to ligament tears and broken bones is a bit of a stretch. FWIW, I don't know if EMF causes any issues whatsoever. But I also wouldn't buy a house near a power line, just to be safe.

This reminds me of how some have attributed the high rate of brain cancer in Phillies’ players from the 70s through the 90s to the artificial turf at The Vet.

The petrochemicals involved and the heat from the turf created a pretty hazardous brew getting breathed in

Couldn’t be all the new fangled PEDs running rampant in football. I had to take a powerful steroid when I had a torn cornea and one weird side effect they told me about was if I took it too long it would weaken my Achilles tendon.
