The word quit, which means “to stop, cease, or discontinue,” Levis and CRod are deciding not to play when they have the option to play and therefore are quitting the team.Opting out of a insignificant bowl game to get healthy and make sure they have their best opportunity to get drafted, isn't quitting. I don't are how you spin it. Opting out half way through the season or before a meaningful bowl, you could have an argument.
You do realize there is a game yet to be played...right?You do realize the semester is over and both players have already graduated, right??
So are these non-students still getting athletes' privileges and access to program facilities even though they've chosen not to complete the schedule with their teammates?Do you have any reason to believe they plan on enrolling in the spring semester? Fall semester will be over well before then, so there's a good chance they will no longer be students.
That’s my problem. Now that they’re getting paid opt outs should be not allowed in some situations but like for a MCB I don’t care. Mainly Smith Njigba opting out of playoffs is terribleYeah. And now they are getting paid and still quitting. **** college football.
UK would be well within their rights to withdrawal all financial aid. I wouldn’t recommend it though. You do realize there is a game yet to be played...right?
But, let's go with your argument for a minute. Are you also saying they've moved off campus, not on meal plan, not getting medical treatment, not rehabbing their injuries, not working out at the athletic facilities, not going to do their pro-days at the University?
If the answer to any of those questions is "No"....then opt-outs (for any bowl bound team) are not holding up their end of the bargain with their respective schools.
.....and I'm not saying throw them off campus. I'm saying if they're getting athletes' privileges, they should perform athletically. If not, the opt-outs should have enough honor to forgo the scholarship privileges and quietly take their leave from the team.....because they have voluntarily ceased to do their jobs.
GBB--BEAT IOWA!
I'm not saying any of those things. Just making a statement that both have already graduated. You do realize there is a game yet to be played...right?

Levis was an unknown back up QB at Penn State and he developed into a first round pick in the NFL at UK. Not that means anything.Levis' success and high draft status will mean more to UK than him playing in this meaningless bowl game. He did his part IMHO.
That’s awesome and I’m glad he has this attitude. Just curious, what’s his draft projection?Kenneth Horsey just tweeted that people take playing for granted and that every chance to put on the jersey and play is a GIFT and a PRIVILEGE.
That's a real man speaking his feelings about what the game means to most players. Thank you Kenneth Horsey!!!
I doubt that he has more than a very late forecast if any at all. We need him back and at guard. (I believe he has a year left). That’s awesome and I’m glad he has this attitude. Just curious, what’s his draft projection?
Of course it’s because of money! I mean some kid getting a chance to make millions of dollars playing Football where every single snap, you’re chance for the next snap goes down and injuries are closer, or they guy going to work for a tech company? Of course anyone should understand that. It’s the reason why anyone even goes to college, to be able to make money one day. The kid with a future playing Football just has more to lose than John Everyguy, who doesn’t have a chance playing for a career. It’s not difficult to understand why a top draft pick would choose to opt out of a game that doesn’t really mean moving up the draft rankings for him. If Will Levis or C-Rod or anyone of our players were asked by the staff to play, or, if the game was a New Years game or close, I’m sure they would. I’d imagine Mark has thanked them and probably even told Will he shouldn’t play in this last game. Anyway, we need the reps for a lot of young guys and this game will be very important to them. Thanks. Also, I can’t wait to see them one last time. Woo.Way I see it is why is one players risk of injury worth more than another players? Because he’s going to make more money? What about the Senior who is graduating to move on to a computer science career? Should he sit out in case of a head injury risk?
There’s always risk in football. Every game whether it’s against EKU or UGA. Well maybe more against UGA haha. Players accept the risk and prob most don’t even think about it.
If these bowl games aren’t worth the risk anymore for players, they need to revamp the system/season/bowls etc. to make it where there’s something on the line so even players tempted to sit will still have some skin in the game to play.
Stoops himself was quoted as saying he hoped Levis played.Of course it’s because of money! Well then the ****** should have said yes. Lol. Haha. I mean I guess Stoops could get a pretty dang nice paycheck with the win so I can see that to.Stoops himself was quoted as saying he hoped Levis played.
