“Targets” vs “Contacts”

The problem we seem to be having on this board is the difference between a player contact vs a targeted player. Most of the guys we have been listed with are not likely targets, only contacts. Probably over hyped by agents.

Don’t get me wrong we have certainly lost some players we wanted - Dent, Gwath and Bol, Demary. But, not the vast majority of the ones people think we hit hard.

That is what everyone on here thinks. I doubt most of these were more than an initial contact to gage interest, playing expectations and financial expectations.

Would we have taken someone like Eaglestaff if he was willing to be a piece off the bench? Probably at the right price.

It is going to be difficult to get guys like him on board because they like the money, but want to play.

Some guys will contact LOTS of schools in order to drive up potential NIL.

One thing that didnt help is the report about stars being ready to play for UK . That was said during the season . I don’t know if Pope actually said it or it was just a report .

I think Pope will get the players he wants. He's not trying to get the top 4 five stars on the list.
