I vaguely remember watching it every once in a while when I was young, in the '80s (either on TBS or WGN, or maybe both). I don't recall anything much other than Mel Allen and his distinctive voice.
I remember The Baseball Bunch with Johnny Bench, Tommy Lasorda, and the San Diego Chicken about as well.

Anyone remember Battle of the Network Stars?
Yes. They were actually competitive and fun to watch. Nowadays they wouldn't keep score and just have them set around discussing poetry.
Some really good athletes. Tom selleck, Mark Harmon, always fun to watch.
I liked it because they took it serious and truly competed. I remember William Conrad challenging someone to a race to decide a winner once.
In one video when Heather Thomas gets dunked things pop up.
I watched that a few times when we didn’t have cable back in the day. Came on Sunday nights after the last news. I think the show was designed to be sleep-inducing.
Used to watch it almost every week. It came on Friday night at 11:30, immediately after the local news on one of the Lexington/Louisville TV stations.
I remember this one. It was the day I became a man! When she climbs outta that swimming pool, I'm like, "uhhh... I gotta go to the bathroom. Brb."
