RIP to the I64 billboard in Frankfort. It had overlooked the KY River for well over a decade. It’s still a UofL billboard, however. The message has changed. Something like unleash your potential. The previous billboard ruffled feathers.

WELL over a decade. I'm a frequent Lexington visitor (family down there) and I will miss it. I remember it going up but can't remember when. Anybody remember how long it's been there..

There’s an article dated 6/2012 referencing Lamar Outdoor deciding to approve the copy for a billboard on I64 near Frankfort. “Lexington is for the Birds”. Living in Lex for 44 years and driving back n forth for all the basketball games we remember being shocked Lamar approved that copy. Then when we saw the miles ahead copy, we laughed all the way to the game! We were at the time and will be again! I think we need to rub salt and put new copy about the Payne Train. He is very well liked in this part of the state. New vinyl should only cost about $1700.
