Strawberries. God's perfect creation. Raspberries are a close second, but I can get about 2 pounds of strawberries at the same price as a 5 oz. box of raspberries.
Strawberry picking is easily one of the worst jobs on the planet and us City Slickers pay for the opportunity to grab a shallow cardboard box and sweat for 2 hours to collect about 40 of these stupid bastards.

Youโ€™re in USNY, correct?

If so - Winesap apples are dope.

Yep. There's like 20 apple farms within a 20 minute drive. ***** are everywhere. It's a huge to-do up this way.. put on flannel in the fall, go apple picking.

I'll have to check Winesap apples. I've always been partial to sour apples. A granny smith in season is just too good.

Not sure I can pick a favorite. I love some watermelon on a hot summer day though, or some blueberries with my breakfast. Maybe some cut up strawberries for desert, or the afternoon snack of an apple. A fresh pineapple or orange in the winter when they are at peak season is also hard to beat.

Guess it depends on the time of day and which season as to what my favorite is.

Watermelon is great, but nowadays I have to have it really cold. Not sure what brought on that change in me.

I always have trouble with these favorite threads. I like so many things and there are many variables that determine my preference at a specific time. The fruit I would probably miss the most is the tomato.

Yeah if weโ€™re counting tomato as a fruit thatโ€™s an easy pick for me. I usually have a banana, couple tangerines an apple and tomatoes just about every day. In the winter those little Campari tomatoes are hard to beat from the store. In the summer they all come from my garden.

Bourbon berries, look like grapes but when you squeeze them you get bourbon. I enjoy bourbon every day.

Apples are my number 1, with my absolute favorites being the small heirloom varieties in the fall. Eating an envy as I'm writing this.
Second is blueberries in plain yogurt. I like fresh but the little frozen ones from Trader Joe's are great.
My honorable mention is frozen mango chunks. I let them partly thaw and try to convince myself that it's ice cream.

Cmon. Tasty, yes. But no one is craving guavas.
I thought this was a your favorite fruit thread. I would imagine few people North of Florida even know what they are but if you were raised on them and smelled the aroma coming out of grandma's kitchen when you were a young'un then it could very well be your favorite fruit. There are so many ways to fix them. Eat off the tree, make jelly and paste, make turnovers, serve guava shells with Philadelphia cream cheese. Serve them with milk for breakfast. The list is endless

It is the one jelly we keep around all year round. I have two guava trees and they bear lots of fruit. I have lots of citrus too and the kumquats are also high on my list

You spelled Honeycrisp wrong.
Love those, too. But they are kinda small at times.

I'm not a fan of apples that don't have that crisp/crunch to them. Any of the "mealy" type apples are garbage. Red Delicious are like this I believe.

They had a new apple I hadn't heard of this past Fall, and they were fantastic. SnapDragon maybe?

This is the Apple Orchard we go to every year. They recently opened a brew pub and are also growing their own hops. They are becoming hugely popular. The one below it is another orchard, but they built an 18-hole golf course. Haven't played it in years, but I remember being able to pick apples and eat them as you go.

Im with you on the pithy/mealy apples.

Track down some sugarbee apples if you want something special. They are a newer variety of honeycrisp that is super firm, sweet, and the ones we found were the size of grapefruits. Best apple I've ever had.
