I may be a bit off but MC was actually 1-4 in 2014 and won 4 straight including beating Loyola in week nine to get in at 5-4 then made it to the 7A semi finals, beating LWE along the way before falling to Miles Boykin and Providence badly in the semi's. They may have been 2-4....either way they made an impressive comeback.

2004 Lincoln Way East - they started season 1 - 4 and then ran off 4 straight to go 5-4. Their reward? The 2X defending state champs Lockport Porters in the first round - a team they lost to at home during week 4 or 5 by about 30 points or so. They upset them 14-6 in round 1 - then won 2 more playoff games (Brother Rice and Sandburg) before falling in the semi-finals vs DGN.

That was a great run by East. I remember that game at Lockport. The Porters were in total shock.
This IMO sent the Porters in a tail spin that has never recovered. Meanwhile East went on to win the State Championship the following year in 2005.

Didn’t Montini do this not too long ago? I know they won a title entering the PO’s 5-4.
