I think it is possible but not likely. Before the season there was a poll on The Rock about what would be our final record. As I recall 6and 6 with a bowl win was the most common answer with a couple being brave enough to say 8 and 4. My expectation has risen to 8&4, who knows if we get our injuries squared away we might even beat tOSU. But 8&4 with a bowl win would be very satisfactory to me now. I think NU has a good chance with Minny, iowa, and Illinios; especially the home games if the students and fans come out.

Just saw this about Katin Houser -not sure how this changes things for our season finale, as their D (like ours) is probably their limiting factor. But it probably means we’ll need to score more points. I’ll be more optimistic if we’ve got Fitz, Flakes back. And maybe even Stevens.

They scored 20 yesterday, to beat a BAD Maryland defense.

It is possible. All 4 have records in the BIG10 about the same as ours. OSU and Iowa are playing for their lives in these two games. Let's say Minnesota has a 30% chance of beating us and Illinois has a 25% chance. Is anyone surprised when a batter with a .300 batting average and a batter with a .250 batting average both get hits in consecutive at-bats? Of course it's possible.

We are 1.5-point favorites vs. Iowa. I think we'll be big dogs at OSU, slight dogs at MN, slight favorites vs. ILL.
Analytics have us favored by >3 over Minnesota on a neutral field, so we'll be slight favorites over Minnesota on the road as of now. If we lose big to Iowa that might swing.

What we have shown is that we have issues on the road. We also play the hardest road schedule that could be possible. We also have shown we are really good at home. So, can we go 0-4? Sure. We can also go 4-0. We weren’t blown out by Oregon and Indiana. We are not a perfect team but we are a darn good one and can score on anyone. Iowa (home) and Minny (away) are 50/50 games. Ohio State (away but weakened) is about a 30% chance. Illinois (home) is about 70%. None of the games are a sure win or a sure loss. A lot of coaching needs to happen for us to be successful. So let’s enjoy the CFP talk while it last (it’s fun to dream) and then enjoy the team when (if) it fades. The team is trying. We have injuries and we have talent gaps but so does everyone else.

Any record is possible. We're going to be favored 3 of the 4 remaining games (2 as slight favorites, 1 as a sizeable favorite, and 1 as a big underdog).

We should go 3-1 if we win the ones we're favored, but 2 of those will be near coin flips, so 2-2 is nearly as likely as 3-1.

If we beat Iowa, things look pretty good.

Wow, we're are favored against the Hawkeyes? Before this, I would have thought the opposite. We need to run the table or take 3 at the very least. A 10 win season (bowl victory) will bring us dividends in recruiting!!!

We definitely could lose all four remaining games. But that's not very probable.
OSU is the one sure probable loss. Iowa leans toward close to probable. If we get all the guys back for the last two games, we will win those. Iowa is the big ?.

I think the pessimism is not based on losing to Oregon. It is based on just how bad our defense looked against an Oregon team that had been struggling to put up points until then. Granted, we had some key guys missing on defense, but I don't know their status to return.

I think there is a real possibility we lose out, but I'd hope we can beat Illinois. However it turns out, if you had told me before the season started that we'd hit 6 wins and go bowling, I would have taken it. Expectations have risen now, of course, but in reality, we haven't beaten anyone of note yet.

That all said, that game against Penn State was so much fun that it alone made the whole season for me.

Going 0-4 is not the mostly likely scenario, but is more probable than going 4-0.

Iowa really found something this week and only our home field plus getting Fitz or at least Flakes back would make me more confident.

OSU at the Shoe is not going to look like OSU 3 time zones away at USC.

Minny could beat UCLA in Minneapolis, they’ve been just that scrappy. It’s like they are playing Fitzball or beating Ferentz at his own game.

Illinois at home, we really should beat or this season ends a major disappointment.

Braun said we can beat any team on our schedule, or lose to any team on our schedule.

It's a tough 4 game stretch. Hardest to least difficult is how they are laid out.

IF we get Bobby Fitz and Frosted Flakes back, (and don't lose another irreplaceable person like Chiles or Wilde), I think we win 2

If they still had their quarterback I might agree. But they can be beaten without him.

Whether we're good enough to pull it off, especially in Columbus, is a different question. But I wouldn't call a loss there an outright guarantee at this point...
Watching the osu usc game. We are better at qb than osu now. What I worry about is that it is in Columbus

It wasn't a guarantee. I said it was a sure probable loss, meaning the odds favored a loss. If we get some more guys on D back, we have a decent shot, but if not the money probably will be on the Nuts.
