Yeah Malik is a liability on both ends now. No mobility, no lift.
I hear you. I'm not even thinking in terms of his effectiveness. I'm just thinking, why do you have a player out there playing basketball that is limping around with some real injury issues. We aren't talking bruised ribs or bent fingers. It's just painful to watch and really unnecessary no matter how good or bad a player or team is.

Where has Wests offense been all season? I'm guessing he was told to be a pass first PG earlier. But that was my main gripe with him. Good defense, handles, and steady but no offensive threat. Turns out he does have some offense.

Never a doubt. They go on runs but they are never sustainable because they don’t make shots or gets stops when it counts

I guess he was trying to play a role be a team player and wasn’t asked to shoot although he had a pretty good percentage last year. He’s got confidence in his shot now.

I give credit where it’s due - I appreciate that the guys didn’t give up. That’s a low bar but it’s better than what I thought was gonna happen.
I will say certain guys didn’t quit. Those are the ones who need to play. A few started hanging their heads.

On episode 3 of Ozark. Looks like I made the right choice? 52 points against Virginia. About right.

Times like these...

Game was lost in first half, that was a real **** show first 20. I am surprised they played with fire in the 2nd half, bench was really into it.

Withers and Malik having words team is a complete train wreck.

West played his *** off. A couple weeks ago I said I'd never play him. This is why I'm not a coach.

Will this team win another game this year? Deep thoughts.

Mack has likely checked out. If not he’d do something drastic - throw someone off the team, press the whole game, something.,

This would have been a game to get a T for sure. Cards shot 3 FTs. It is true half UofL's shots were from 3, so they didn't deserve a ton of FTs....Cross got assaulted a few times in the paint no calls. Wouldn't have made a difference the game was decided first 20, but still, defend your guys. It's whatever.

I think we’re looking at 13-17 or 14-16 now. Which is down big time from my “early/optimistic” 18-12 regular season record prediction about a month or more ago. This team is tanking, in a big way.

I can’t quite put my finger on what is going down, but I’ll continue to pound the “we don’t have talent” drum. Our kids are just not top 20-ACC level, they’re just not.

While I’d personally like to see Mack replaced at season’s end I don’t think the guy has forgot how to coach. But, he’s made some horrible moves that may cost him his job. Honestly, he may have made the same mistakes that the snake oil salesman down the road made last year. Not evaluating his talent correctly, poor staff, terrible team chemistry, etc. There’s one big difference however, the ole snake oil salesman has a ring on his finger, Mack does not.

I agree with you I think Mack made mistakes with his staff, evaluating talent and changing his style of play. I personally like Mack and his family hoping that he is successful here but he has really made it hard on himself.

Other than Steele who stayed to become the HC at Xavier, Mack had the same staff he had at Xavier and when he got here I wouldn’t say the talent level was so much worse than what he is accustomed to coaching. He really only had 2 -3 guys with anything close to NBA talent. I think that’s why he was so set on coming to Louisville. Talent was going to fall in his lap.

I think the Dino situation was/will be his ultimate downfall, it's just been kind of gradual since that situation yet is now at warp speed.

Some players may have had relations with the assistants he canned, others if not all probably aren't down with audio taping "friends" so there is a real trust issue breakdown. I think the disconnect with the players has limited Mack's ability to pull the team together.

You see indirect outcomes some large some more subtle, but each adding up to **** show. We see Malik yelling at Withers and Withers talking to himself on the bench thinking Syd is listening. On the larger scale you see home losses to NC St and roadies @ PITT and now you're staring at a losing record.

While easy to look at Mack's shortcomings as a HC and/or unifier of players, back to Short Creek's point there is a talent issue these guys did lose to Furman w/o Mack. Of course it's on Mack to bring in the talent some will just disagree on what's preventing the staff from pulling high end guys. Whatever it is, the clock is really ticking and everyone knows it, it's just a formality of when not if.

Need full-time AD. Wash, rinse, repeat. Then need punishment.

They might win one more game thats Clemson .But I'm betting they go 0-11 after this two game stretch with Duke ,NC they will get blowed out and any confidence is going to be all but taken. Watch how bad it's going to get.

These guys lost the 2nd game of the year to Furman at home. They have home losses to NC St and DePaul, DePaul is complete garbage. They got woodshedded by WKU and Sparty pre conference, struggled with 6-10 Detroit, went to Pitt and got humiliated. Just laid total egg @ UVA first 20 min.

It's been awful the entire season it's not some kind of sudden boom.

Yeah but MBB’s was already having issues before letting Dino go. That’s why Dino and Murray were let go. Team wasn’t producing like they should. They were probably made scapegoats…

Make no mistake - no one is enjoying this collapse more than Dino Guadio. He probably orders the finest Italian food & wine and has it delivered to his house so he can get hammered and laugh his *** off while Louisville gets beat by powers such as DePaul and Furman.

Agreed. This job comes with some pressure, and Mack's decisions on how to improve the program failed. The decline has been gradual for Mack but it really escalated this year. I believe the audio taping fiasco got that boulder for him going downhill full speed.
