The only for sure thing that I expect to see today is a total, all out hustle effort from our team. The criticism has not landed squarely on Mack. It's on everybody.
I couldn't tell you if the guys shoot straight today, but I think they will win the loose ball category and dig in like they're defending the Alamo.

I cannot ever remember a game when Louisville dominated the loose balls and long rebounds. When there's a ricochet of the ball, the players with the Louisville jerseys are almost always a step behind. It's been this way for years. This team is the worst with it.

Goin with the blind squirrel theory today on those loose balls. We'll know early.

Mack might have been some of the issue but at the end of the day it’s the players. And man they just aren’t good.

At least 10. Even good Cards team never seemed to dominate loose balls.

Already three times in the first 5 minutes, Duke kept the possession because we can't corral the ball. Malik has always had butterfingers.

Those were long rebounds.

Those were long rebounds.
On the baseline the ball was knocked loose and it went directly to a Duke player in the corner. Not much can be done about that but it happens a lot to the Cards.

Then Malik drops a defensive rebound out of bounds and Duke hits a 3 pointer right after. Then there was a long rebound that went straight to a Duke player. All in first 4 minutes.

Biggest issue right now. Too many 2nd chances. They will have to be much more physical than they've probably ever been to have any chance today.
You can just tell Duke is superior at every position. It's easy for them and they know it.

Lol loose balls are not this team's worst issue. Every time they get on a mini run they shoot it too quick, throw it away or bounce it off their foot.
I wouldn't equate effort to bad luck.Apples and oranges.

If anyone still denies this program is cursed, just keep watching as teams make 3 point shots with .6 seconds remaining. I never used to believe in such nonsense but it just keeps happening. Over and over and over and over and over.

Keep em off the offensive glass,we can stay in the game.
Out of the starting 5 only Malik had a rebound. Not really fair to Curry because he got in foul trouble but he’s got to stay on the floor.

maybe we should send all 5 guys to the glass.

There's nothing wrong with the Cards effort in this game and loose balls are not the worst thing that cost them wins. Terrible shot selection and Basketball IQ has been their worst traits.

But little things in Basketball often determine the outcome and for some reason that I don't have an answer for, it's like it's a game of hot potato out there and the Cards are just not good or lucky enough. You could say the same thing when it comes to officiating.

All UofL fans will tell you when the refs are bad, Louisville is not usually the beneficiary of bad whistles.
