1st term frosh. Worst game ever.

I was a senior and highly lubricated for that Navy game, but as bad as it was, it was nothing compared to 1985 Notre Dame.

The weather for that Navy game was comparatively warm. 1985 Notre Dame was played in a 34 degree, windy, driving rainstorm. I was soaked to the core after that game and cold as crap. I had to go to the old K-Mart to buy a new set of clothes to drive home in.

One week out, this is the AccuWeather forecast. Absolutely perfect. But as noted above, it'll change a couple times before then...

Rain is better for Penn State than Oregon. Everything they do is predicated on a fast turf track with no weather.

I was 11 for that one. I was thinking more of rainy Iowa 2009 and the thud heard around the stadium.

Thanks for posting this....I was trying to think of the rainy white out game that the ranked Lions laid an egg vs Iowa. While I give credit to Iowa for taking the crowd out of that game, the rain didn't help and minimized the white out effect. Nevertheless, rain or no rain I think PSU and the raucous white out crowd prevail vs Oregon, but the memory of that game always haunts me.

Worst weather I can remember, too. Soaked to the skin by halftime

Yep. I’ve sat through more cold, snowy, windy, rainy games than I can count, but nothing compared to that 85 Notre Dame Game.

Learned my lesson that day and now make sure whatever the weather forecast is, I prepare for something 20 degrees colder, and make sure I have some good rain gear packed. Cold driving rain is far worse than cold driving snow.
