...to say that the raid that cost Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens and 29 civilians their lives actually yielded no intelligence that was “actionable or viable.”

“The Pentagon says Navy SEALs scooped up laptops, hard drives and cell phones in last month’s Yemen raid, but multiple U.S. officials told NBC News that none of the intelligence gleaned from the operation so far has proven actionable or vital – contrary to what President Trump said in his speech to Congress Tuesday,” said an NBC report.

“(N)o truly significant intelligence has emerged from the haul,” the report said. “One senior Pentagon official described the information gathered as ‘de minimis,’ and as material the U.S. already knew about.”

The Trump administration has tried to paint the failed mission as a success in order to offset the political damage of losing a highly trained military operative due to poor planning, a lack of ground support and inadequate intelligence.

In his speech to Congress on Tuesday night, Trump assured Ryan Owens’ widow Carryn — who was seated in the gallery next to Trump’s daughter Ivanka — that her husband’s death was not in vain and that the raid yielded intelligence that will make the nation safer.

Earlier, on Tuesday afternoon, Pres. Trump lied and said that the Yemen raid was an operation that had been planned by the Obama administration. He also sought to offset the blame for Owens’ death on to the generals leading the armed forces.

And the HEAD of DOD (Mad Dog Mattis), stated on the RECORD, that we did get great intelligence. I trust an on the record source who is the head of DOD over NBC.

NBC looks like the corrupt outfit they are. More importantly, they make this poor family think their son/husband died in vain. For not worthwhile cause. With no results. Pathetic.
Michael Moore, et. al. say Mrs. Owens was used as a prop. As if if a grown up widow of a Navy Seal can't think for herself. Sickening, disgusting, despicable.

Read Mary Katherine Ham's response. She too lost her husband recently. She took them DOWN.

Wonder why his dad didn't show up?
I'm sure he didn't vote for Trump. Just from what he said. His son was good enough to be chosen into an elite unit that does dangerous work. Some seal candidates die in training. Nobody thinks their son is going to die but if he's in an elite outfit that gets dangerous assignments, bad stuff happens. I'm glad Trump went to meet the family, his dad chose not to be there or at the speech. It's his perogative. Our reps showed the nations respects. Too bad his dad felt so little about his son and what his son stood for, that he chose not meet with the CIC.

His dad was at Dover when the body was returned. Not meeting the CIC says absolutely nothing about his respect or love for his son. You are warped.

I think if I had a son that died in combat, I would tell the CIC to f'uck off, regardless of political affiliation.

I never voted for Obama but if asked to meet with the President, I would. **** happens in war, his son chose a very elite dangerous group. He disrespects his son's memory by making it political when it involves serving in the military and being a truly honorable soldier. Very few men get to serve with the SEALS, his dad will regret not meeting with the PResident. I hope he doesn't become a bitter hag like the woman from code pink, who's son was killed.

Not meeting with the CIC could be construed as apolitical.

Either way, it's not disrespecting his son's memory. I admire both of them.
We can certainly admire his son. I do not know his dad, therefore, I have no opinion on him. My opinion of his wife, is much higher. As I said, if Obama asked to meet with me, I would . I would respect our President.

I don't know, but I reckon he's tore up and struggling with the absence of his son. Perhaps your thoughts should be with him instead of the man you loathe. Do what you thinks best for you, Destroyer.

Exactamundo! Does anybody believe that information recovered /not recovered would be publicized? Of course the story byline is going to be "We did not find anythig of significance" Would you lay money on that, I wouldn't.
