Before the season I did not expect much. Somewhere between 6th and 8th. Then after some wins was thinking like 4th or 5th. Now thinking 10th.

Don’t see wins against PSU or NW, RU could make history (3 years in a row), but if I had a gun to my head I’d pick against RU making it.

Sadly I agree. Hope they prove us wrong. Go RU

Hopefully we stop with the ridiculous substitutions too. Barring foul trouble, Cliff rarely needs to leave the court. Dickinson was on the court 3 more minutes than Cliff and Michigan has a viable backup at center and we don’t. He got into foul late but that was after the game was over.

Bufkin and McDaniel each played 38 minutes because the game was important…and Michigan, unlike us, has a legit bench. This 12 minute mark substitution pattern is garbage now. It should be a game by game basis.

Yeah but Jim Baley or whoever was good. Cliff is a stiff who can barely jump

Are people really not getting fluoxetine’s sarcasm in this thread?

I mean, it’s rather annoying, but he’s got his tongue firmly planted in cheek.

… and his *** firmly planted on the couch in his parents basement. He is posting more like a punk than a tongue in cheek fan. Sorry but he’s adding nothing here and should go back to the kids table.

Expressing disappointment/concern about this 1-4 stretch is not overreacting by RU fans. We were 16-7 after the MSU game and looking good. I know we lost Mag; very unfortunate but those things happen and it can't be an excuse to go on a slide. It's really not asking too much for some of the seniors to step it up at crunch time and for the bench to produce more. It's also not asking too much to beat Nebraska and Michigan at home, or to at least not lose by ten and thirteen (and score 45), and to make free throws and cut down on turnovers, most of them via absolutely horrible, careless passing.

Maybe they can get it done starting today, and I hope they do, but what we've seen recently should have us all worried. Maybe we have another Wisconsin gritty type win or two on the road vs. PSU and Minny. Based on what I've seen recently I wouldn't bet on it, but this team has surprised me.

Rutgers is a over achieving tean that has won nine league games with three remaining.Somehow Rutgers needs to win two more to solidfy a NCAA bid.A offensive explosion against Penn State would be a hopeful sign.

Of course we are worried. I understand the man down next man up mantra but reality is it changed the team (for the worst) . It’s not an excuse , we just weren’t deep enough to begin with and we could not afford a season ending injury to our key starter. We are not over reacting , we are reacting . Some teams can overcome injuries , our roster is not able to withstand losing a key cog.

Sure would, but an "offensive explosion" from this team seems extremely unlikely. Who does it come from? The only real possibilities are Cam, Cliff, or Hyatt. I wouldn't expect big points from Paul, Caleb, or the bench.

I hate when people come here and say stuff such as “stop the game by game overreaction.” I don’t like this term, but that’s gaslighting.
Oh, so we’re the crazy ones now because we’re upset that we held a team to 58 but still lost by 13?

But yet after crushing crappy OCC teams at home we are elite team with multiple All Big Ten players.
Can't mention even the slightest concern.
People only complain about others negative overreacting.

Well - except for RutgersAl. He's the only one who gets crap for positive overreacting haha.

To be fair, losing three out of four has to be one of the worst stretches in the history of college basketball. Not sure a teams psyche ever recovers from that. Honestly next year might be in jeopardy too
I think you’re being sarcastic but your posts are so Jekyl and Hyde I am not sure.

Either way Purdue has now lost 3 of 4 and 4 of their last 6. While we have played some crappy games, mostly when guys are injured, this has been a good season for us and recruiting is trending up.

Someone mentioned Mathis is a separate thread and keeping role players is the key in this grind of a conference. Everyone has injuries. Everyone loses games and plays poor games. But I really think this season can be defined by our lack of depth. We lost a couple early without Paul. Now we’re on a slide without Mag plus others playing hurt. These are not excuses but they are facts. We are not a deep team unless the bench steps up.

I’m still really happy with this season and we just gotta find a way to win like we did at Wisky last weekend. A couple of more W’s and we are in without a doubt. One more win and the committee acknowledging the OSU debacle and we are in. I don’t want to leave it up to the committee to do the right thing for us. Go out and take it boys.
