30 years ago.....last season opening loss..seems like yesterday to me. Graduated HS that year. Time flies.

Back to 85 loss to Flat St. NU then ripped off 9 straight wins to become #2 in the polls before losing to #5 Oklahoma and then #5 Michigan in the bowl loss. NU ended up #10 in 85'

Just some insight on that 85' teams record for everyone that doesn't know the history of what happened after that opening loss.

Yep another year that the critics ripped TO for only beating the teams he was supposed to beat.

The QB of that Michigan team has a familiar name.

The home opening win record was complete bull anyway. How many of those games were against massive cupcakes?

I am a lot more concerned about the national perception of Riley and its impact on recruiting. That is a much bigger deal long-term. The chance of starting out 5-0 going into Wisconsin, being ranked, and having some excitement around the program ended quickly.
