Shouldn't Alleghany be seeded ahead of Elkin since they finished ahead of them in the conference standings?
Sorry I have no answers. Looking at NCHSAA rules if you have a tie between two teams in a conference then the team that wins in a head to head game gets the higher seed. But this case should be even simpler because by thier rules a team with a better conference record then another team in the same conference that team gets the higher seed which is the case. So I don't know what to tell you except for some reason Elkin was ranked 23 in 1A & Allegheny 27 in the adjusted nchsaa rankings.Shouldn't Alleghany be seeded ahead of Elkin since they finished ahead of them in the conference standings?
Your correct about it coming from the adjusted rankings. But my question is how did come up with the rankings? By thier own rules Allegheny sure have been ranked higher then Elkin...It’s off of adjusted max preps ranking only after the auto’s get put in. Conference play doesn’t matter. CSD finished ahead of Cherryville in the SPC and beat them head to head but Cherry got 7 over CSD (10) because of overall adjusted ranking.
