Coach pitman will have them ready. That also depends on how far boys team goes. Caius is as good a olb as we’ve had. Ty Turbyfill will be really good at qb. Line will be better than u think and hoyles a player. We will do ok.
The Hoyle kid is a stud, just dont think he will be enough, he smacked Yancey co in the mouth in middle school but he is the only skilled junior left at Mitchell I see struggles ahead
Heritage lost a lot, dont think that jvs team moving up can get it done, good line but no speed, Owen wins the conference this year write it down that's coming from a Mitchell parent who has been here since the start and watched your 2 yancey middle schools shut out in back to back seasons dont count out this years Mitchell team, 3 QBs in the backfield 2 of them never got beat

It’s possible you think Heritage lost more than they did...O Line and D line are returning starters or players that played big minutes on varsity last year. Also 3 of the 5 Linebackers are returning all conference starters as well. And if we are going back to middle school I’m pretty sure that this senior class at least CR was undefeated against this same group. But yes we lost some important pieces as did every team. Owen will be strong as well as Polk but think Heritage still has enough to pull those games out. Just glad we are going to get to see it.

Well good thing we have a few to throw to. And if it’s that simple then maybe you should pass that info on.
I don’t think this will be the Mitchell team we are accustomed to seeing. Too many new faces in new places. They have the opportunity to be good but will they have time to come together. They could have used the full schedule. Scrimmage showed promise but it was Enka, sorry Enka but you will struggle again.
Will be interesting to see what and how they deal with a 12 win Statesville out of the gate.

Y’all sleeping on Mitchell. O-line has decent size. Just gotta let them play and come together. Whether it’s a “down” year for Mitchell just wait till this team gets a crack at it for the next 2 years.
Just my opinion take the purple shades off lol. I do think mountaineers will be better next season.
It will likely come back down to Mitchell and Mountain Heritage. All teams (except Madison) should be improved this year. Owen and Polk should at least match last year's success, Avery, on paper, should be much improved. Heritage should be equal or a little better than last year, and Mitchell will improve as the season goes on. My prediction:

You know Polk quarterback is at Thomas Jefferson, my opinion that was a huge loss.
Miychells defense is going to be tough, stout linebackers line is young but I think they'll progress as the season goes on, just glad they get to play
Avery lost all skills but 2, dont think they'll have enough to get it done, I'd say switch them and Polk it'll be a toss up on whether Mitchell is in the 2 or 3 spot, these are just predictions I'm hoping we're undefeated hard not to when you have a kid playing Heritage is the favorite to win the conference but dont count out these Ledger boys, they are tough and have worked there rear ends off, Fri will tell the tale
Amen, a lot of these posters go off jvs, I dont, Heritage played all their sophomores down on jvs last year and barely squeaked out wins, these kids are not like the old Heritage jvs you could say were going to dominate every year cause they won every week by 50, not many of their jvs stepped on the field on fri night last year, Heritage has Hall and Brooks that are very talented players, the rest seem average to me, I honestly wouldn't sleep on Owen they came on after we pounced em last season I think they will beat Heritage
I think possibly a 3 way tie between Owen Mitchell and Heritage is very possible Owen had Heritage beat last year I think they'll get it done this year, also it'll be interesting to see how Heritage plays at Mitchell with no fans, this is going to affect alot of these games no crowd no cheering for the away team gives the home team advantage Heritage like Mitchell always traveled well a good fanbase will make the players reach down deep and pull out a little more for pride, no fans will make a huge difference
I coached most of these sophomores and juniors in Rec league including my little brother. These kids are super hungry. Just saying they have a chip on their shoulder and they are more than willing to take on the challenge. JV squads don’t mean crap. Travis is great at getting his teams ready. I guess we will wait and see.
Yeah Owen gave us all we wanted that first game but 2nd game not as much 18-7. Y’all that are dying to see Owen beat us this year seem to forget the 2nd game.
One good thing about jv football kids get chance to develop. Really think that's why heritage has success.

Owen is going be tough this season, they have more speed then us in skill positions. But we have advantage up front ,we are loaded on the line. Plus they have us in the valley .
Not dying to see Owen beat anybody but I definitely think you guys dont match up good with them, funny how we put a running clock on them in their house, then they come to Burnsville and beat you, and I do mean beat you, then you beat us, some teams just dont match up the good lord didn't want them to win evidently because that was the worst fluke i ever heard of lol heck Avery gave you guys a decent game Heritage is in Mitchell's heads or something I hope its injury free and we get to move on to the fall it dont feel right this time of year does it?

That will all change after this year, I go off middle school more than jvs, your best teams ever at heritage dominated in the 8th grade, heck some were 7th graders, I'm telling you the junior class at Heritage has no speed, i watched both games last year when they played us and was not impressed they couldn't stop a 14 year old freshman rb we had that weighed 135lb this is not going to be your traditional Heritage team lotheir line is good though
I think Hall will be a tough load to handle, he always has been, games will be low scoring boring 3 to 5 yds a carry 10 min scoring

The reason Heritage beat you last year, their front 7 dominated you guys. Our defense was nasty last year.

Don't believe everything you read on here concerning Murphy until Mbdfan confirms it.
Appreciate the vote of confidence Gentle but I'm just a fan, no insider. With that said, yeah #30 is no longer on the team as of yesterday. We'll see how it goes, lot of inexperience on this Murphy roster and depth is definitely a serious concern in several places.

As you know Murphy had already lost two starters to legal issues, one of them arguably the best player on the team and now they've lost the fastest kid in the conference and one of the fastest in 1A football, tough deal.
It would be one thing to lose starters like Hayesville did to transfer, I honestly could stomach that better, but to lose three like Murphy did is hard to swallow.
Lots of kids struggling now..its been total BS withholding the kids from school and sports
