Not in your 25-30 year time frame, but Mark Manuel from Rville played at Duke.

How about the QB from West Montgomery, Jaquil Caple, a few years ago? Think he went to App State after UNCC?

Ray Smith from Swain's 2012 1AA runner up team is on ECU's roster as a QB right now.

Brad Roach from Williamston's 02 1AA runner up played QB at Catawba, which I realize is D2, but he spent some time with the Ravens and in the CFL, so I feel like that should at least get him a mention.

I can think of a lot of 1A QBs who played D1 football, but a lot of them moved to WR or DB in college (Just in the SMC, JC Brown from Murphy played WR at WCU, Seth Curtis from Murphy plays WR at WCU, Jonathan Shively from Hayesville played WR at App)

Yeah Observe & Report, that why I was asking about playing QB in college as well. I could only remember the kid from Roanoke. When did Shuler graduate? Maybe 1990?

1990 would've been his senior season. Class of 91.

Another recent West Montgomery QB Caleb Drake is playing for the Richmond Spiders as a WR but was used as a runner mostly this year. Not sure how they had him positioned. He will be a redshirt sophomore in 2016.
