If this is the case I will go with Mitchell vs. Murphy in western finals. Oh ya never mind better make that MIC with all their speed.

On second thought I will take David Gentry and Murphy to win the big games. Been there done that has to count for something.

Mitchell vs Rville would be an interesting second round match up. Never count out the SMC teams.

I know they have took a beating the second half of the year but if and it is a big if Cherokee could get healthy they could go a round or two as well. Injuries have killed them this year.

Mitchell went there and did that last year in big games in 1AA. I don't think Mitchell will have an issue crusing through the 1A with their size and multiple threats.

Think it will be a big task for cherokee to beat rville but who knows. And don't each team get to drop a non conf loss ?

Dont think anyone in either 1a or 1aa will cruise through Murphy. Would love to see a Mitchell vs Murphy game. Mitchell pretty much runs the Murphy offense. Mitchell coach got their offense from Murphy. Be interesting.

Braves i have cherokee losing to robbinsville. 6-4 record is with your 5th nonconference loss dropped. Yall will still be ranked higher than robbinsville if yall lose to them and swain beats robbinsville, which i think they will because that leaves robbinsville with 5 losses and cant drop any since they only play 10 games. I have mitchell ranked higher than murphy because the 11th game is used as a tie breaker for teams that r tied and didnt play each other and murphy lost to franklin.

Think its a new rule. 11th game, then maxpreps ranking. In previous years 11th game meant nothing at all.

Dont forget MIC's gpa we all know how important that is on the gridiron lol

You're a real comedian. When presented with a logical rebuttal to a misguided response you run to another thread. What is really funny is what those boys get off the gridiron. I'm starting to realize all you have to live for is your local HS team. I see why you all are against charters, privates, magnets, ect. It might decrease the ignorance and you might have something else to entertain your time then the local HS team. Keep the jokes coming but the laugh is all on you.

No one ever said that MIC would beat any of the teams mentioned. What will be funny is if they do. The amount of crying will be epic. Not enough tissue in the state of NC. Remember we're just a 2nd year program. Yes we have speed but we haven't won anything yet. We lose oh well nice season. You all lose it's epic.

Gpa's don't have s**t to do with football. Your the one went on some tangent about grades and ap classes. Who cares. Didnt run from one thread to another. I think charter schools do have advantages compared to traditional. When your nerds all graduate im sure they will recruit a whole new fleet of players like wsp in bball. Anyways im done with this topic. All i care about that relates to highschool is football, i could care less who goes to college grades, or anything. If i had a kid on a team obviously i would care about their grades, but i dont.

Once you prove yourself more people will take your team serious. Does not matter if you are a charter, private, magnet or public (without open enrollment) prove it on the field. Last season people would not give Mitchell any credit until they reached the 1aa finals. They fought the same battles of no respect but they went out and earned it. The charters that had great records last season got run in the playoffs.

I have no doubt that within the next 1-3 years the charters will dominate the 1a brackets, heck might even be this year and yes it does have to do with open enrollment. As soon as the right school gets the right coach players and families will come to the school in droves. Just look at the article on the front page about Lincoln Charter in basketball. They probably have more college recruits on that one team than all the 1a schools in WNC combined. So yes open enrollment does make a difference.

I promise this will be my last response on this thread about charters ect. so go ahead and tell me how ignorant I am I really don't care.

Calm down buddy! When you get hyper you tend to ramble. GPA have everything to do with football in my world. Maybe not your world. We live in two different worlds. Enjoy your small town local ball and continue thinking the world is flat.

I heard the word "recruit" is that a accusation? Stop the wsp recruits in bbal crap too. If you do not have hard facts or evidence of that then that's slander. Stop crying under the name of "recruiting" and accept the annual thumping wsp will be handing out to your local bball teams. I hope wsp win the state in bball so I can watch you all cry and comfort each other

That's a fair post. I agree the playing must be done on the field. I'm not crowning MIC anything. Honestly we're years away.

Well wsp wins every year, girls too, so no worries. Im immune to it, just hate seeing football go down the same path. When half the bball team can dunk from the foul line on a yearly basis, if someone's not recruiting, they got some dam good luck every year.

Can't wait for some smashmouth mountain playoff football. Don't think world is flat either, u smarta**. I think your team has advantages other traditional schools dont have, because the open enrollment is an advantage. And you dont, so i will agree to disagree lol.

I doubt they recruit. I think what happens is on the AAU circuit players link up and want to tag team "Lebron Effect" just the way this generation is built. WSP name is out there. So if I'm a tag team player and want to win a championship they will be very attractive.

On the football side I doubt any charter will win in the next 5 to 10 years. Will they win some playoff games or some upsets sure. But in the 1a level the same schools will continue to dominate.

Well u r probably right, if your players graduate early every year and have to start with a new nucleus of players, they wont be able to gel as other schools.

Charters don't have a open enrollment. What they have is a 25 mile radius boundary. Which students still must get picked in a lottery. In some cases a 3rd party lottery. They still must meet all public school requirements the same as traditional schools.

It's advantages both ways. If the 25 mile radius is a advantage the fact that charters don't have a true and consistent feeder is a disadvantage. In certain areas everyone has some sort of a advantage. If what people think is so much of advantage charter school would have been won a football championship. Basketball is more simple because it's less numbers.

Well Gentry referred to them as possibly facing Andrews again in playoffs, so he prob has heard their numbers and he obviously thinks there is a good chance of being 1A. I think he would know.

Gentry knows Murphys #s, hence the reference to possibly playing Andrews in the playoffs. Murphy will be 1A.

On your second to last sentence, the word you are looking for is than, not then. I'm not even going to point out the irony here, but by all means, carry on.

Whatever.. Don't add any grey area to my point. I never said I was sound academically. I said the student athletes are sound. If you want to correct grammar volunteer for tutoring at your local community college.
