Hard to wake up for these 9 am games when you're hungover.
Fortunately I awoke to the oline opening massive holes for Newby, so that made it better.

Not complaining, but two plays on that series "didn't look like football". The messed up Newby run and the TD looked like a busted play. The Westy fumble could have been bad too. Glad to see them running the ball.
I almost forgot, for the segment of our fan base still stuck in the glory era: run the damn ball!

Langsdorf needs to train Tommy to just airmail the ball to the sideline when the protection breaks down like that. That curl 10 yards deep into the backfield will cost us points against better competition.
Omg Newby is scared of contact. Always trying to bounce it to avoid contact, just get up field!! He's left about 30 yards out there.
Yeah, I agree with the poster above who said Newby runs like he is afraid of contact. I find that hard to believe, but I'm not sure how else to explain his tentativeness.
Sometimes it looks like he's running up a stair case. His legs do a lot but he never really goes anywhere
That last Newby run was terrible. Didn't follow the blocker, just kept running parallel to the line, gets dropped for no gain. He had 3-4 yards up field easy.
I think he is trying too hard to be AA. He just needs to be Newby. I thought he was hitting the hole a lot quicker against S. Alabama. He has kind of regressed on that front the last two games.
If our WR'sand TE's can get a little better at holding blocks, our run game is going to open up a lot.
