Maybe Pelini sucked but do you think we are getting better?

Short answer, yes.

Longer answer, hell yes. this team has no offensive game changers on offense. they have no top of the line talent on defense.

the fact that they've coaxed 9 wins out of this team and are an overtime pick from 10 wins with one against Wisconsin is a testament to the team getting better.

Iowa has gotten four plays all game that worked. Unfortunately, 3 of them were HUGE. It''s not like Iowa is doing whatever they want and we have no answer. They've recognized we have very little talent in the front seven. Our strength is our secondary and Iowa has taken them out of the game.

People who blame the defensive coordinator for games like this either don't understand football, or are being overly emotional.

Zac darlington. Healthy and hungry to win. But a hurt sucky stat rat is our best option, riiiight.......
I'm calling BS. If Darlington played you'd be kicking and screaming that Riley is risking the health (life) of Darlington given his concussion hostory.

tommy?

You really don't think the coaches point this out when they're watching film? He's a poor decision maker. If he's completely unwilling or unable to go through his progression, it's not on the coaches. In a perfect world he'd be benched. In this world, benching him would mean benching him for a walk on who is only moderately better..and makes us one dimensional. And is playing with a broken hand today. Literally the only thing they could do to correct it at this point, is stop running deep routes and they can't do that, or the underneath guys would never be open.

Next year, if we're doing this crap, then yes, you can blame these coaches. This year, you blame Pelini for ****** recruiting and you blame the guy who makes the wrong decision almost every single play.

If only we had a 4-star QB from California who graduated high school early and could have been groomed earlier this year to play in this situation. Damn you Pelini.

I don't see any improvement from game 1 this year. We seem to always be playing for next year, there are a lot of freshman playing these days, but most of ours aren't improving.

You don't have to bench a kid for good. One half during an early game during the season would do the trick. "Do it our way or you don't play" should be what is said. Or is that not very nice of CMR to say?

Who the F are they supposed to start? God you people are so f'ing stupid. You wanna put Fyfe in? Because you same morons were tearing him down just a few weeks ago. We looked serviceable against Maryland but terrible against Ohio state while tommy did ok. Now guess what? He's in a f'ing cast. Which means one hand on the ball at all times. If he gets hit, he's going to fumble. We have nothing! We have no depth and lots of injuries. It's the reality of the situation. It sucks but don't go looking to blame a staff that has turned a lot of thing around this year when we weren't even supposed to contend for the division. This place is nearly intolerable when the Reilly haters taste blood. Quit hating, recognize and appreciate how much better this year was than last, and be a little optimistic about things.
Based on the record alone , this staff is no better than the prior one. You are asking people to be satisfied with a participation trophy. Maybe that is part of the problem. Fans who demand better are NOT the problem.

Coaches get paid to recognize when they are to be limited going into a game. Half the state wants to win this Fing Game!!! The coaches know what's at stake and they chose to put in a limited quarterback?? They even were quoted as to be game planning for multiple quarterbacks. Why lie??
Use these quarterbacks and interchange them towards a decent game plan.

I'm not taking anything from the coaches all season. They have done a great job! Go back and stalk my posts if you belivebotherwise!!?But the fact of the matter is this is an important game and one of the last games of the year. Crappy game planning. My opinion..

Our guys better show some heart and fight in the second half. They need to decide what kind of program they want to be. One that rolls over and dies when they punched in the mouth (e.g., Ohio St.) or one that fights back. They look so uninspired, and that is not what this program needs right now.
