I'm not sure it gets a whole lot worse in terms of looking like clowns. Unfortunately, that's where Kentucky football is right now. What a putrid first half...

*LOL...did UK just fair catch a kickoff? Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!

*Three drops on the opening possession started things.

*UK had a first and goal at the one foot line. Got nothing out of it.

*UK had a first and goal at the two. Got nothing out of it.

*Boom Williams has suddenly developed a liking for running backwards...of course, he fumbled inside his own five which led to a Vandy touchdown.

*Pick six for the 'Dores.

*UK fell for the old "hide a guy on the sideline" trick. It's a cool play a lot of junior high schools run. And UK's defensive coordinator is in the sky box (hahahahahahahahahahahahaha). Folks, this is why you have coaches in the sky box. As soon as that kid started running toward the sideline, someone should have said something. My guess....nobody noticed because UK's head is firmly entrenched up its own ***.

*Kentucky's pass rush = a complete and total joke. Seriously, how bad is UK's d-line? They can't get pressure against an OL that's about as bad as Kentucky's? Unbelievable.

*Overall, the first half was an absolute disgrace.

*And Vanderbilt gets the football to start the 3rd quarter.

Pathetic.

GBB!!!

Agreed Erik. It's a really shameful day for our school today. Absolutely nothing good to come out of this.

Maybe Stoops is a good D coordinator, thats the job he should have. He gets next yr if he makes a few changes. mostly a new d coordinator, bring in a special teams coach, new WR coach...... I could go on and on

Yeah, our staff has been uninspiring to say the least. Just so many horrible errors that half.

As bad as we have played the last three weeks, we have managed to play worse today. At some point this coaching staff has to be held accountable. Tired of hearing we are young, stoops took over little talent, blah, blah, blah. This team is poorly coached, poorly managed, and is just a complete dumpster fire.

BigBlueCatNation, Stoops' decision to go for it on 4th and 1 was awful. Just punt and go in down four. You have a new QB. You're facing a tough defense. It's just not worth the risk.

In general, I don't think the staff has the players to get much of an idea of what they're capable of. Today though, they've been awful. The play calling inside the five was garbage the first time down there. The 4th down decision was garbage. Not being prepared for a trick play was garbage. Just a lot of garbage today (LOL).

I shudder to think that Stoops could be worse than Joker....I'm really starting to wonder.

I posted a thread after last game that said "I Still Support Coach Stoops".

If we lose this game, I'm officially off the Stoops train. This is just beyond awful. How can you be so bad that you get beat by Vandy like this?

IMO Stoops has one half of football to save his job. If he loses this game, it is the beginning of the END OF THE STOOPS ERA.

Mark Stoops just lost the KY fanbase. There is no way he gets it back unless this team comes back to win tonight. The KY team I am watching right now has no shot at beating UofL.

Agree Eric, plus with how hard that's it's been for Vandy to score in the past I would have kicked the field goal, get something positive out of the turnover.

Erik,

Dawson might be the most maddening OC I've ever tried to follow. Seems to almost always call opposite of what the gut tells you he should do. Runs ire when it calls for pass (and 100% of the time on second down after a first down miss -it' must be in his religion), throws on 3rd and short when it's clearly 4 down territory anyway. Throws at the goal line when you have 4 downs to ouch it in. Never has figured out that you can't run short yardage front the shotgun....GET UNDER CENTER so your back can get to the whole quicker with more leverage rather than starting from a standing start 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage!!!!!! ,

And his offense is completely void of simple timing routes like 8yard sideline out or curl something that has proven effective for 40 years that are easy throws for QBs and what other teams have no problem doing to us.

Maddening

He's lost me for good, win or lose tonight. If we were somehow able to come back and win this game, it would just be more of a reflection of how bad Vandy is, rather than any progress for us. Between starting Towles and the absolute joke of a coaching performance in that first half, I'm convinced he's not head coach material, regardless of what happens in this game.

Shades of Bill Curry. The fans who made the trip to Nashville need to be cannonized. I think CMS is just no head football coach. I think he could become such given his family heritage, but there are just too many aspect to the job that he hasn't been able to grasp just yet. Will he eventually become what we want him to be, I don't think he will while at the University of Kentucky. But, we are a basketball school in a football conference. How long can you continue to pound a square peg into a round hole? So, what's the solution... I've been trying to answer that since 1959. I just hope before I die that one becomes apparent. GBB.

Anybody with 2 eyeballs, a modicum of sense and whose head isn't stuck up Mitch or Mark's *** can see this coaching staff is a massive failure. The plug should be pulled but it won't because of the insane extension MB gave out and the fact that he's scared to fire anyone. Plus, we don't want that idiot making another football hire anyway.

Erik, in your opinion, do you think Stoops is the man for the job?

I did, my suspicions raised the last few weeks. However, I'm now convinced that Stoops isn't head coach material.
