OP, Obama blamed Bush for 8 years for the economy he inherited. Trump has been in office for 3 months. Let's see what GDP is when the tax breaks are enacted, the repatriation is in place and Obamacare replaced. Then we can talk.

To be fair to Obama, he did inherit the worst economy since the Great Depression. GDP growth when he took over was -8%. That's NEGATIVE 8%.

Reagan inherited a situation as bad or worse than Obama's. They took very different approaches. Reagan economy destroyed Obama's. Obama had 8 years to improve the economy. The recession ended in June 2009. The Fed did much more than Obama. Much, much more but it only helped the rich.

Reagan's economy is what caused George HW Bush headaches and when it plummeted and he had to go against his "Read My Lips" speech, Americans went bonkers and blamed Bush......but it was Reagan. You know, like how you all blame the economic problems of George W. Bush on the Clinton administration's subprime mortgage crisis.......

What headaches did it cause Bush? He had a recession as happens every 4-5 years or so. But his GDP growth was higher than Obama's even with his recession. BTW, Clinton ended his presidency in recession. And Billy benefitted greatly from Reagan's economic policies and from Reagan's peace dividend.

Revisionist history at its best again. Here are some numbers for you:

Unemployment Rate
1989 5.3%
1990 5.6%
1991 6.8%
1992 7.5%

Let those numbers sink in a bit.

Do you want to compare GDP, which is what counts? Unemployment numbers don't take into account part time workers, those that give up looking for work, etc. Very distorting. Want to compare GDP? I don't think you do. Want to compare deficits? I don't think you do. Nice try. Very ineffective though.

BTW, want to compare Reagan's economic record against Obama's?

And just for the hell of it, let's do a father-son comparison.

GWB:

2005 5.1%
2006 4.6%
2007 4.6%
2008 5.8%

And Continue with Obama:

2009 9.3%
2010 9.6%
2011 8.9%
2012 8.1%

Actually, it was intended to portray a picture that I desired. I know your intent was good, but if you are going to correct my work, please use correct figures.

2013 7.4%
2014 6.2%
2015 5.3 %

I understand your desire to make that administration look good, but you are trying to put lipstick on the pig. It just does not work when it is actually that ugly. Glad to assist when it is so badly needed.

We’re so tired of winning after Trump’s first 100 days

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/were-so-tired-of-winning-after-trumps-first-100-days-2017-04-25

The lying press just don’t get it.

They keep saying Donald Trump is off to a terrible start — and that some of his fans are getting disillusioned.

How typical.

They couldn’t be more wrong.

If you look at the facts, and instead of the elite media, you’ll see that Trump is off to the greatest start since FDR.

He’s having a fantastic 100 days!

Consider the facts.

He’s already transformed the economy. As recently as Jan. 20, it was a bleak and miserable picture of poverty, “rusted out factories,” and economic “carnage.” Today? It’s booming! Has there ever been a faster turnaround?

The unemployment rate has collapsed. Last year it was between “28%” and “42%.” Today it’s just 4.5%.

Jobs are booming. Last month the U.S. added 98,000 net jobs — compared to the monthly average of just, er, 120,000 when Obama was president. In February an amazing 5.3 million Americans found new jobs. A year ago the figure was just 5.4 million!

The stock market is in great shape. Last fall, when the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.19% was at 18000, we were in “a big, fat bubble, folks.” It’s up 15% since then!

Health insurance is fixed. Trump has found a way to cover everybody using the private sector, without adding a nickel to the budget deficit. He’s calling it “Obamacare.”

The Russia stock market (as measured by MSCI) is up about 11% in dollar terms.

And Goldman Sachs GS, -0.89% stock is up 23%.

Trump has “drained the swamp” on Wall Street by moving it down to Washington.

He’s taken bold steps to strengthen the National Security Council by removing Michael Flynn and Steve Bannon.

He’s helping the FBI rebuild its reputation. Last November, around the time of the election, this fine American institution had reached the lowest point in its history.

Sales of Ivanka’s clothing and perfume are up. And she gets the stuff made overseas, so as their currencies are down against the dollar BUXX, -0.07% , she’s making a killing.

The national debt is no longer a crisis. It’s not going down — actually, it’s still heading up. But it’s no longer a crisis.

China has stopped “killing us” by manipulating their currency downwards. Their currency is down another 4% against the dollar USDCNH, -0.0594% since last summer. But they’re no longer currency manipulators. Just like that!

The Trump Organization has just opened a brand new resort in Dubai.

The Trump Organization also had a fantastic sales trip to Uruguay, and it saved a ton of money on security!

Mar-A-Lago’s been able to double its admission fee. Win!

Donald Trump’s son-in-law has just landed a fantastic new job.

Donald Trump’s wife, Melania, just made $2.9 million — and it was from a foreign company, too, so it helped the trade deficit!

Trump already has a plan to slash the cost of the “wall” — by turning parts of it into a fence. And he may cut the cost even further by not building at all!

Take that, haters! Take that, Lugenpresse!

Trump is winning so much that he’s probably getting tired of winning. I know I am!

Good grief! What nonsense.
DT has been in office for 100 days and you want to be critical that all the lack of economic momentum so prevalent for the ENTIRE Obama administration should have instantly reversed. Such a comment from you indicates that for you agenda and bias far outweigh logic and reason. Surely, you are really not dumb enough to believe that the economy will turn immediately after having had 8 years of substandard performance? Surely no adult with a measurable IQ would offer such a statement unless done solely as a very poor attempt at humor.

First off, bigot......

Secondly, fake? Yeah......well, then how does that work? The president just says "hey, put these numbers in instead of the actual ones"??? Well, if that's the case, then the numbers for Trump must be fake too......works both ways. [thumbsup]

Clinton's economy took off after the '94 sweep of the GOP in the Congressional elections. Under the "Contract with America" they enacted Welfare reform, and fiscal restraint that slowed the growth of deficit spending, cut marginal tax rates, and opened up opportunities in the hi-tech sector that fueled economic expansion. Clinton fought against most of those reforms under the Newt Gingrich Congress (Welfare reform for instance) yet the Dems want to give him all the credit for the benefits of coming along with the Republicans dragging him to the party kicking and screaming to their reform agenda and balanced budget efforts.

You do realize that the 95 programs that the "Contract with America" promised to decrease ended up increasing by upwards of 13%???? [laughing]

You do realize Democrats voted against the proposed spending reductions in every one of them?

How much less spending did the Left and/or Democrats offer to counter the cuts offered under the reforms in the Contract with America?

How many did Clinton support?

You can't have it both ways. You were attempting to give credit for the booming economy of the 90's to the Republicans and this "Contract with America". But now you are blaming the Democrats for the increased spending? And then you throw out your "Clinton" rebuttal.....as always.

It doesn't work only one way.....Republicans don't get credit, and Democrats the blame for everything......[winking]

I can and I do get it both ways because the fact remains the Democrats and Clinton fought against every proposed spending reduction/reform in the Contract with America.

The spending reductions and reform agenda (Welfare) that the Republicans enacted over objections from Clinton and the Left ended up spurring economic growth, reducing discretionary deficit spending, and creating massive expansion of the private sector economy which the Left and Democrats only want to give Clinton credit for.

He benefited from Republican policies, and the Left uses his Presidency to ignore the fact it was Republican reform initiatives and their success at forcing him to accept them that defined whatever success he and the Left claim for his Presidency.

The Democrats can't claim any support for the Contract with America because they stood in direct opposition to it.

I didn't "blame" Democrats for increased spending under the Contract with America, I said they voted against the reform agenda.

I asked you to tell me which programs they sponsored or supported that included less spending not more?

What's your answer?
