2 cats test positive in New York

Just read that 2 pets (cats) tested positive for covid-19 in New York
have 2 questions (1) How did they test them(stick a swab up their nose)?
(2) Why the F#@& are they testing cats in the first place?

Had the same thought,going to a vet tomorrow to get tested,may get a CATscan and some LAB work done while I'm there

Cats will kill and eat anything. Rats, birds, moles, anything. If Corona was going to infect an animal, it would make sense it would be a cat.
