Bowie caught that lob above the square!
To me its the most phenomenal play in UK basketball history.
First, Bowie contests the LSU shot then turns and out runs ever player down court.
Then Dirk lobs the ball perfectly even though he is 50 feet away from the basket.
Bowie uses all of his 7’1 frame and leaping ability to go up and get the ball that was 13 feet in the air and then in one motion turns with it suspended in the air and rams it home with both hands!
I was watching it live on TV at 14 yrs old.
Still gives me “Goose” bumps every time I watch it like it did that day back in 1981!
There is absolutely nothing like Ky basketball!

What losing? We haven't lost in over seven months.
Between not making a S16 Since 2019 in basketball and the football program’s current 4 game losing streak, I think you know exactly what losing Im referring to.

Took a vacation day Monday to watch Season opener and the following Tuesday for Puke. Go CATS the excitement is back!!

Yup right there with you. I watched live, was 15 almost 16. That play the Dirk's Dunk on Ole Miss was my 2 favorite plays for that group of guys in Rupp. I was in section 217 IIRC. Could not wait to get home to see replay on news that night.
