Question 1

On the Edgy Tim Weekly Pick Em Game, he has Bishop McNamara playing St. Laurence. On the IHSA schedule, it looks like McNamara is playing St. Ignatius. According to the website McNamara has played St. Laurence in week 4 and lost 70 - 40. I am assuming this was just a typo but can anyone confirm which game is correct?

Question 2

As long as I am posting, I have noticed that certain CPL conferences only show an 8 game schedule (the Illini conferences - Heartland, Land of Lincoln etc...) while other conferences such as the Big Shoulders and Great Lakes have 9 game schedules. What do the Illini conference teams do in week 9?

Thank you for your assistance,

The BMac game is a typo. BMac already played StL and lost 70-40. This week BMac plays St. Ignatius. Should be a good game with BMac coming off the big win against PC and a much improved Iggy fighting for a play-off spot.

are we sure that its that game or the St. Laurence/Leo game? I assume your right as the Mac game is by far the better matchup.

Gotta think its BMac and Iggy for sure. A pick em for STL and Leo wouldn't make sense unless a point spread was involved

Week 9 in the CPL is always open because its technically the first round of the CPL playoffs. It is seeded 1-16, the top 4 teams in each of the 4 Illinois conferences are eligible. If you're a team like Curie, who will probably be the #3 seed in the CPL playoffs you'll play a team like Brooks or Lane Tech. Win or lose week 9, Curie is State Playoff Eligible they will play in the 1st round of State for week 10. If they win the week 9 CPL playoff game and then lose in round 1 or 2 of the State Playoffs, they will go back to the CPL playoffs and play whomever is still alive. If they were to lose the week 9 CPL playoff game, after they lose a game in the State tourney, their season would be over.

I believe the Catholic league does something similar with their week 1 playoff losers
Do only those CCL schools actually in City of Chicago participate in the Prep Bowl playoffs (Fenwick also)? For example I dont think Providence participated in 2009 (2-7 year). I think a couple of the ESCcs played in it during Catholic Metro era and JC played it in '79.
